Good to see. Hiring a private security firm to do the same job will give the school board a much better level of control and accountability over the security of the kids and school.

Over the years Denver has had quite a few cops who had no problem going full ****** in the blink of an eye.

On this issue Nixon was mostly just talk. The mass incarcerations began with Reagan's war on drugs. Where we went from a prison population of half a million to where we now have a prison population of 2.3 million, more than any other country on Earth.

I'm inclined to believe that if it had not been for the war in drugs three forths of "crime" would have never happened and the state would not have had an excuse to ruin the lives of so many of its citizens.

It is a double edged sword. Not all drug criminals have or are serving time over an ounce of weed, and not all citizens’s lives have unjustly been ruined by the State. Why lump them all together?

You should read up on the history of the Denver Police Department. At one time they were practically synonymous with the KKK. The mayor their grand wizard. When I lived in Colorado, the Denver Police made the Boulder Police look like something from Mayberry. Moved out here to Portland, and the Portland Police are ***** cats by comparison.

In Colorado, until legalization, at least since the early seventies less than an ounce of pot was only a violation with a maximum fine of $100. In the Bible Belt, people have been getting ten years for having a joint.

Thank you for the suggestion, I believe I will read about Denver Police early days - only live in Colorado since 2006.
