    Right or wrong to do it does not matter. If it is legal for him to tell the FBI to stop an investigation then it is not obstruction of justice.

    Your comparison doesn’t fly. There wasn’t and still isn’t any evidence to suggest Trump colluded with Russia. The investigation is to find the evidence. There was a email server used by Clinton. If the investigation was based on a hunch Clinton used a illegal email server, and after over a year of investigation including a special counsel investigation that had not shown there to be any evidence of the alleged server, I would have supported her decision to end it.

    I repeat, if it is legal for the president to tell the FBI not to run an investigation then it is not obstruction of justice if he does so.

    A. He absolutely had the intention of shutting down the investigation and admitted so several times

    B. Yes he can legally fire the FBI Director. What he can NOT do..is fire him in order to stop an investigation into the President or someone "close to the President"

    That would be obstruction

    It's been uncomfortable to watch Dershowitz prostitute himself for a little media attention. The legal arguments he is making have been torn apart making it all the more curious as to why he persists. I wonder if he has a latent desire to become AG and is willing to throw away an otherwise distinguished legal career in order to board the clown car full of misfits and hacks?
