Yeah... I lived in St Pete in the 1990's. Great beaches... Disney is fun... Cape Kennedy is fantastic... anything else you need to know about Florida?

All of these ancient land based schools amount to a massive boondoggle. They are obsolete failures.
Education funding should be encouraged to flow into alternatives.

It would be far better for the RP in Florida if they transferred control of the entire education budget to the parents and guardians of children and let them decide which schools would be best for their children.

IMO, letting any political faction dictate curriculum is a bad idea.

"Land based schools" are much better that "boat based schools" ... its hard to learn when you're seasick.
What is "RP"??? Ringer people? Something to do with telephones?
Obviously, our schools aren't teaching English very well. It seems to be a lost art.

You cannot discern between an aspiring fascist and an existing fascist installed as POTUS by stolen elections, but that's no surprise at all.

DeSantis has a clear record over 4 years of standing up for individual liberty. Not many governors and not a single POTUS can say that.

Well, unless you are gay, or trans, or a person of color, or a woman, but totally for individual liberty!

You are right about our schools. RP, CP, DP, -- Republican, Communist, Democrat ...

Why would anyone want to spend now countless billions in education funding on real estate and physical plant when the curriculum, instruction and discussion can be delivered over the internet?

It's tough enough to get kids to work in a classroom with a certified teacher in charge. Thinking they'll apply themselves at home in front of a computer is ridiculous.

Many can do just that. The popularity of online learning is expanding, but the parents and guardians of children with control of the entire education budget should be able to choose.
Teachers should be able to start their own convenient small neighborhood schools from their homes or other local venues, and operate them without the interference of the professional education bureaucrats that have ruined the US education system and failed generations of children.

Great idea. The teacher's union is seriously communist and has no interest in educating kids, just growing their coffers.

Correct, and the slightly better teachers union the AFT, was a CP front organization. Teachers, once made free to negotiate directly with the parents and guardians of children, will have no use for any union.
The PTA will no longer be a front for teachers unions.

I'm an old Soldier and afterwards... engineer. Along the way I was certified as a high school Physic teacher in California. Retired in Texas now, I'd help with a local teacher(s) start up a school free of union influence.

IMO, any party that came up with a credible proposal to allow teachers to form their own independent schools would create an instant super majority of voter support.
Step 1. Transfer control of the entire education budget into directed individual accounts under the control of the parents and guardians of children.

I'm a Free American, this is MY military, I'll discuss whatever the hell I like. I love how some folks are always trying to shut other folks up. It sure doesn't speak well of their ability to formulate a position and defend it, while respecting the rights of their fellow Free Citizens.

You pay for Walter Reed Hospital too. Does that mean your opinion about brain surgery is valuable? You pay for lots of government stuff, even classified things you never heard of. So your opinion about things you never heard of is valuable too. Your post is kinda silly.

And yet you consider yours valuable, so one must consider the source.

‘Hillsdale Of The South’: DeSantis Appointees Are Restoring Florida’s Public Liberal Arts College To Classical Roots.

    https://thefederalist.com/2023/01/1...blic-liberal-arts-college-to-classical-roots/

'After Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced last week he was appointing six new members to the New College of Florida’s Board of Trustees, leftists have gone berserk.'

A state that they are familiar with.

'The small liberal arts school in Sarasota, Florida, is regarded as the most left-leaning college in the state. Functioning as Florida’s honors college, it has just slightly more than 700 students and 90 full-time faculty members. In recent years, it has embraced critical race theory-type initiatives and expanded its “gender studies” program to include a “gender diversity center” and “queer studies.”'

Instead, Free Florida is steering the school toward the 'classical education model employed by Hillsdale College, a small liberal arts school in southern Michigan whose core curriculum emphasizes the classical texts of the Western tradition.'

    Making College GREAT Again!

You have to hand it to DeSantis, he sure pisses the right people off!

SeSantis is great. I was not aware of his efforts to drag colleges out of the political quagmire and back into the business of teaching. Very cool.

Sending illegals to "immigration sanctuary cities" is simply giving them what they want. He's helping.

And yes, I do know quite a bit about the Army. West Point graduates usually do.

Just focus on showing a reasonable amount of respect toward others and I suspect things will be fine.

And yes, he is doing some great work on Colleges, as well as schools, and shipping illegals to sanctuary cities has revealed them to be complete fakes. As soon as actual illegals showed up without leaf blowers for their advertised sanctuary, they had the National Guard round them up and remove them.

I lived in Florida in the 90's... St Pete. Orlando is a very high tech area and growing. University of Central Florida hosts an "Industrial Park" there which contains both military and civilian development centers. The Florida school system is well suited to keep them in engineers and other tech folks.

Bringing up voter fraud is not treason, breaking into Congress and forcing VP to change the election result is treason.

You can claim voter fraud , that’s your right, you can take voter fraud to the court , that is your right. But once the court ( almost 100 courts) give their verdict, you “should “ accept the verdict and move on.

What Is DEI and How Has It Infected Campuses?

DEI stokes 'racial resentment and prioritizes physical characteristics over merit.'

'The have forced college students and many corporate employees to sit through hours of discussions on maintaining a diverse and "inclusive" space.'

    Provides ample opportunities for graft:

'The expansion of DEI has proved financially lucrative as it has created an entirely new class of employee. In 2022, LinkedIn ranked diversity and inclusion manager as the second-fastest growing job over the past five years.'

'In higher education, the programs continually rolled out of DEI offices are changing the entire collegiate experience by requiring a host of trainings and programs for students and faculty, beginning with freshman orientation.'

'DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?' LABELED A MICROAGGRESSION IN TEXAS HOSPITAL BIAS TRAINING

"When medical schools prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion over science, learning and research suffer. DEI is being used as a bludgeon by administrators who seek to impose their version of 'science' onto future practitioners. Any serious med student would be concerned that they are being coerced into an ideology that goes against everything the medical field stands for."

    Exactly.
