So why is Florida's situation different than what happened with Hurricane Sandy and New York other than it's a blue state and doesn't deserve to have government bailouts? Why do you think De Santis changed his mind considering the national deficit hasn't diminished and accuses the president everyday of overspending and runaway inflation?

Did anyone expect anything different? When conservatives talk about 'small government' they mean 'small government when and as it suits me'. Get in between them & a pot of government money they want and just watch them squeal and trot out 'this is different' style excuses. You can guarantee it.

Florida should get its aid, though it would be funny if the Feds presented De Santis with a bill afterward.

He’d be derelict in his duties if he didn’t ask for aid.

    What else ya got?

Why is this situation different than Hurricane Sandy?

It probably worse than Sandy, but it’s still his job to ask.

Yes and it is why ALL politicians should be held to account. Mind you he is talking about far far less than what he wants for immigration

I guess Colbert didn’t hear Pelosi say all the illegals need to stay in Florida so they can pick the crops that no longer exist because of the hurricane. Man, white liberals will do and say anything to keep brown people out of their communities just like they do in Australia.

The citrus crops are absolutely devastated. The fruit is still green and months away from harvest but the majority of it has blown off the trees and is unsalvageable on the ground.

It's a sad thing because it's going to cause more Grove owners to sell their land. Groves that have been in the family for generations upon generations

Plenty of 'brown people' in my community.

Oh, and thanks for trotting out the 'this is different' excuses so quickly after I predicted it would happen. Now I know how Pavlov felt.

I hope you don’t have a college degree and still made that statement. Ever hear of Martha’s vineyard, I’m sure they would live to take the Cubans who want to leave Florida, but why would they?

Yes we take a fair number of skilled migration workers and increasingly from African and south East Asian countries.

Then why did the MoRon feel the need to poach Venezuelans in Texas? Over 100 Cubans washed up on Floriduh's shores during Labor Day weekend. Are illegal aliens that are actually in Floriduh not good enough for MoRon? 1584414801.3623-smiley.gif

Maybe after seeing Billions flow to the Ukraine, no attempt to limit Federal spending, free college for deadbeats. tax credits for cars made in Mexico, and Biden spending money like a druken sailor at every opportunity, he figures the people in FL should at least get some of the action.,

Lol…either way you look at it and regardless of where they are from, Obama & Co voted them off the island. End of story.

    Pathetic dodge. The question remains:

Why did the MoRon feel the need to poach Venezuelans in Texas? Over 100 Cubans washed up on Floriduh's shores during Labor Day weekend. Are illegal aliens that are actually in Floriduh not good enough for MoRon?

"DeSantis, who opposed Hurricane Sandy relief, now desperate for Biden's aid as Ian ravages Florida"

of course he is, Republicans have no shame

Biden doesn't punish States for not being the same party as him as Trump and Desantis would

DeSantis was voting against increasing the borrowing authority of the National Flood Insurance Program without offsets elsewhere. He also stated the flood victims of Sandy who purchased flood insurance should have the claims paid. He wasn't voting against federal aid, which he has requested for Florida.
