You don't have a clue...

The Republicans control everything.

Trump can do anything he damn well pleases and he will.

You liberals would have to go back to 1928 to have less power.

Trump is going to smash your whole world...

And it's highly amusing that a guest commentator for CNN caused CNN to headline the story as "How did President-Elect Trump handle press conference? Nailed it"

Surprisingly a columnist for Britain's Daily Telegraph had high praise for Trump's performance.

Trump isn't afraid of the press, not even close. The only turd that needed polishing was the Beast dodging bullets on some tarmac according to her. "No we can't", and "Stronger than Skunk Scent" were appropriate for her. :roflol:

No one takes Fox seriously, why should Obama put the resources and energy into delivering a answer to a satirical network, that was just that from day one of its inception? It's Common Sense 101.

What are you babbling about? I don't know if that's supposed to be a picture of yourself crying in your avatar, but my sig addresses the state of the American People better than your observation here. Trump looked like an absolute weakling onstage, aside from the fact he just reworded campaign talking points. "Mexico will reimburse us for the wall." That's just a watered down version of "Mexico will pay for the wall."

Trump was simply afraid of getting fried for his own stupidity.

Just like how he was scared of Jorge Ramos. Sad.

Correction. Not "renowned news agency", that is a role CNN abandoned some time back. However it is still renowned, but now only as a manure spreader. Trump handled him with more respect than he deserved. He was provoking a fight, not there to report news. Acosta is lucky he didn't get ejected.

Do you remember JFK's press conferences?

Trump sounds like Sly Stallone..

His press conference was mainly about Golden showers and his wrath towards the press. Nothing concrete.

Yes, I noticed how your idea of a real President should act. Apparently, you and Trump deserve each other.

Have you heard the latest? (CNN)-Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings tell CNN. The allegations were presented in a two-page synopsis that was appended to a report on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The story is unsubstantiated. No one knows if it is true or not. What does our thin-skinned President-elect do? Naturally, he fires off a tweet. "FAKE NEWS - A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT!" He also covered it extensively in his first press conference since July. In addition, he shouted down CNN's reporter, Jim Acosta, and refused to allow the reporter to ask a question. Trump exclaimed, "Don't be rude. I'm not going to give you a question. You're fake news."

All this for an unsubstantiated story that should have been simply ignored. Trump sought vengeance and foolishly makes a banal story into a live story that depicts his own stupidity. He wears his emotions on his sleeve and his narcissistic persona won't allow him to simply ignore a slight, even when it is uncorroborated.

This man is going to be our President in seven days!

Trump should have just ignored it. The whole world knows the BuzzFeed story was not substantiated, and CNN basically published a non-story, probably to get under Trump's skin. Trump fell for it, and by still another immature tweet and shouting down a highly respected reporter, White House correspondent, Jim Acosta, he made it a big story. The networks are all over it. They provide the BuzzFeed story as background, but the real story is Trump's reaction, and that does not do his rep any good. Now they are investigating the source of the story, a former MI-6 operative, Christopher Steele. The story is just getting bigger and bigger, and all because Trump couldn't keep his mouth shut.

"Fake News" - Trump's new babyspeak for anything he doesn't want to talk about.
Soon after the press conference, Trump praised himself on Twitter and referred to CNN and Buzzfeed as “fake news” while declaring that people believe him instead of the press.

We had a great News Conference at Trump Tower today. A couple of FAKE NEWS organizations were there but the people truly get what’s going on

— Donald J. Trump realDonaldTrump) January 12, 2017

Yeah, that did not go over very well at all and Twitter users threw the book at him.

realDonaldTrump You’re a f*cking joke.

realDonaldTrump Your news conference was a disgrace. Fake folder props. Cheering section. Bullying the media. Using the word “crap.”

realDonaldTrump We know you don’t like how CNN treats you, and it hurts, but it’s silly to dismiss the whole nationally-renowned network.

I am shocked at the number of people who think Trump acted properly with Acosta. Is this really how they want our President to act at press conferences, if there are going to be press conferences? Do they not want him to answer difficult questions of interest to the public? In short, do they want our President to act like a jerk?

The Trump haters do not want to treat Trump as president- despite the fact he has been elected in the same way as all those who came before him. They think- since I don't approve. then I can abuse and it's righteous. NO, it's not- it's childish, and un-American. Worst behavior ever seen from a losing party and loser followers.

Our people are used to a different kind of president- one who was afraid to say things unpopular, one whose integrity would bend to the mood of the people willing to trade freedom for security and dependence... and vote for those who sounded nice rather than performed well. Those were not leaders- those were wimps who picked you pocket while they were shaking your hand, and hid their real identity. You are going to have to get used to a kind of leader- and one who isn't going to tolerate crap attitudes such as Acosta demonstrated. There is a difference in not being willing to answer a question, and not being willing to be stampeded into a political sideshow like Acosta was pushing for. Respect deserves respect- and Acosta showed none; he was rude, obnoxious and unprofessional- so he got no respect and wasn't allowed to disrupt as he intended to do.

It takes special credentials to get into presidential press conferences, they come by invitation. Acosta won't get them, and quite likely- CNN won't either, because they are not journalists. New Sheriff, new rules.

Oh cut the silly "new sheriff crap. This isn't Gunsmoke.
Trump isn't getting treated like a president because he isn't acting like one. He's acting like a petulant child, lashing out at everyone who dares criticize him, threatening vengeance, and not fulfilling his presidential duties. He's on Twitter, whining about celebrities and comedians fercrissakes.
And he continues to be a raging (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*).

Well Cranky (good name) Whatever he is- Trump is actually getting things done, and isn't even in office yet. Maybe you are not tired of a government that is paralyzed by it's own BS- one that takes years to make decisions and years to take action.... then botches the job. If that is what you like, Trump isn't going to deliver it. It would be nice if Trump acted like Reagan or Kennedy in personality, but he is who he is, and he wasn't elected to make pleasant conversation . Given a choice of getting the comfortable lip service or getting the job done, performance always comes first in my book. Call it what you want, the rules in Washington are changing- and Trump's the reason.

Lots of things are "unprecedented" about this election and performance of the president elect, and there is going to be a lot more "unprecedented" performance to follow. And of course a lot of "unprecedented" whining by those who are afraid of change. You are likely to stay Cranky for quite a while.
