    Nope. They don't want to get caught outright lying.

    There's all sorts of confirmation and NO rebuttal other than a Jeff Sessions type "I don't recall".

    Based on reports that have surfaced after Durbin's self serving betrayal, it's apparent there is some doubt about the whole thing.

    Specifically, one virulent anti-Trump newscaster has reported sources say the representation the Durbin's media partners are spreading is not accurate.

    So, at this point, who belongs under the fake news umbrella?

    Lindsey Graham hasn't been quoted to collaborate Durbins accusation.

    And saying this..."one senator heard from another senator..." Is simply lame. Lindsey Graham needs to confirm Trump said the exact quote Durbin is stating....but he won't because it wasn't said. ****-hole country seems to be a total fabrication from Durbins little mind.

    Which reported comments were "basically" accurate? The comments Durbin claimed? The comments reported by sources to Jake Tapper?

    How would you define "basically"? Did the President call Haiti a shithole, as Durbin and his media partners reported?

    Is there ever an effort to attack the President the left tries that isn't full of controversy and possible misrepresentations?

    The kindest thing we can say is they engaged in extrapolation. Extrapolation reported as a direct quote is the definition of fake news.
