He accelerated Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons and alienated allies while doing so. Now, he's befuddled, realizing that attacking Iran could destroy his already feeble chances of enjoying legal immunity until 2025. Meanwhile, he's sulking because the British Ambassador candidly affirmed what every sentient entity on earth already knows. Trump said Monday that he will no longer deal with the British ambassador to the United States, who called him "insecure" and "incompetent," among other things..... Ambassador Kim Darroch described Trump as “inept” and “uniquely dysfunctional." He said Trump’s presidency could “crash and burn” and “end in disgrace." Andrew Overton, a former spokesman for the British embassy in the U.S: "What is most concerning," Overton tweeted, "is that President continues to dismiss the value of diplomacy, denigrate our allies, and erode international norms." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...al-british-ambassador-kim-darroch/1675997001/ How will he weasel out of his screw up with Iran? No matter how disastrous it is, his inveterate bum kissers will enthuse A clue, in but a few of his inane pissytweets, how the mind of Trump, such as it is, works: TRUMP REPEATEDLY ACCUSED OBAMA OF PLOTTING TO ATTACK IRAN TO 'SAVE FACE' AND 'GET RE-ELECTED' Donald J. The Shah was a corrupt murdering bastard with an internal security apparatus (Savak) that murdered tens of thousands. True, he did "westernize" the society, which of course prompted the vicious backlash of the Islamic revolution. Yes the religious nutbars seized power and they are in so many ways, worse than the shah, since they are antithetical to western values. Just like the Saudi's who went all out wahabbi, the Ayatollah is all out Twelver Shia and the two don't mix at all. Iran's machinations in Lebannon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, in the Straits, and some other muslim nations is inextricably entwined with this ancient fundamental religious conflict. And yes, it explains exactly WHY they are directly "interfering" within their regional sphere of influence. Now that being said, I absolutely agree with you that the Islamic regime is bitterly antisemitic and an enemy of Israel, like many other muslim countries. They are more dangerous to Israel than the Saudis, because of who commands the armed forces and who commands the religion. The Ayatollah is also the commander in chief and that is combo that can spark nightmares in the cynical at heart. The Saudi King (MSB) controls the armed forces and is far more pragmatic with a deep understanding of the benefits of being "close adversaries" - oh excuse me, "allies" with the US.
Of course they do. They are religious nutbars. Totalitarian regimes are all the same, they just come in different sheep's clothing.
Trump did this himself. It's a rehearsal for the war he wants to start as soon as it become clearly evident he's going to lose in 2020. Thing is the Democrats seem to be guaranteeing his victory right now so why should he make plans to have an "emergency" that will "postpone" the election.
Trump doesn't want a war, that's the most self serving accusation I've heard and right up there in the top 3 silliest.
Trump wants a Reichstag Fire, an event that would precipitate a "crisis" and enable him take "extraordinary" controls. A war is perfect.
The only President I have seen that I thought might think like that is the one Trump replaced. He was a one world, one government, one people disciple, it's his mother and father's world and he was raised in it. Even so, it's beyond silly to think that is going to happen then or now. This is the United States, not Venezuela.
Trump cannot and willnot postpone the election no matter what emergency arises. The left and the right would throw him out.
Aside from the fact that you want to believe this what on earth makes you think this? You sound like Randy Weaver and the black helicopters (great name for a band, huh?)
Yes. They would. The closest thing i could imagine would be. Trump declares emergency and postpones the elections, congress throws him out, Pence takes over, the Republicans put forth a candidate and there is an election in the spring. I think that is even very far fetched.
He has been following the dictator's playbook chapter and verse. It's how he came to power and how he's steadily increased it. EVERY dictator does this, it's a very familiar and repeated pattern. Why can't you people SEE this? Or is it that you DO see and you WANT to lose your freedom?. What does Weaver have to do with anything? Am I selling illegal sawed off shotguns?
Wow. You really are paranoid of the "other" if you believe that those aren't precious values for the VAST majority of your fellow citizens, not to mention supported to equal extent by the citizens of most democratic nations on this sweet paradise of a planet. And the rest of the masses yearn for them, especially for their children.
The way you described it was. "Dictators handbook"? He got elected just like every President we've had has, nothing threatening about it and no indication he would be prone to refuse to leave in 2024. The man has done nothing that threatens America or our way of life regardless what the left and their media puppets have to say about it.
If that is the case then we cannot be threatened. He has threatened our Free Press over and over, illegally refused due process to illegal immigrants (and anyone on our soil is entitled to due process, citizen or not,) and told subordinates to defy subpoenas. This is just a partial list of his egregious tyrannies. In the initial debates he refused to answer a question as to whether he would accept a loss in that upcoming election and he wasn't even President then.
Did Trump handle the Iran crisis correctly? Do you mean the crisis he created? If so, it aint over yet so my answer is Nope.
