Agree completely... and usually I don't listen to much of anything but CLASSICAL music! You know, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, that sort of thing. Frequently I have WETA in Washington D. C. playing all day long, streaming on internet . But, MAN, this lady has such a magnificent voice and a stunning stage-presence! Madonna? No, I wouldn't even waste my time at all by trying to compare Madonna with Lady Gaga, who is simply orders of magnitude more talented and by far more engaging and entertaining to see in performance. What a strange and wonderful life that gives us such agreeable and pleasing contrasts, though. Hell, even I get tired of baroque music sometimes.... . Thank you, Lady, for a lovely light in the middle of so much darkness!
I would like either Springsteen (is he still alive?) or Metallica (are they still alive?) next year. People are ready for widestream metal.
Mama Monster is the best, nobody quite like her. Possibly the most technically proficient artist in rock. I would have liked to have seen her include Papparazi in her medley as it best expresses the pathos which is basic to most of her work but it's also very much its own song and like Alejandro, not quite that suited to a short set, so she chose well I like the Springsteen suggestion. Everybody who thinks Born in the USA is a song unconditionally praising America needs to read the lyrics one time.
It was the best halftime show on the Superbowl in years. The gal can really sing and she looked great.
She performed really well. Didn't remember how many super popular songs that she had had already. I was pleasantly surprised that she didn't try to make a political statement. Overall good show.
It was better than most of the recent ones but she is no Pink as far as flying around goes. Id love to have Pink do the next one
I enjoyed the show because she didn't make any idiotic statements about Trump like she said she was going to. I am glad somebody talked her out of it.
I think most of us understand that "This land is your land" (along with one of her hits, "Born this way") were the two political parts of her performance. That said, growing up, I thought "This land" was a patriotic song.
While Gaga and Katy Perry were good, they still weren't as good as U2 in 2002 or Prince in 2007 (who did a phenomenal performance IN THE RAIN).
I was pleasantly surprised. I thought she'd do some political nonsense. We joked around before she played and we called it the "half time lecture". But no, she did a great job.
I cannot think of something more "Americana" than to hear "Everybody's Got A Hungry Heart" in a Superbowl stadium. Sports and politics mix rather badly.
My comment was about his vocal abilities (or current lack of). I used to love his music, until he started working Presidential rallies during the Obama campaigns.
Oh. I don't let secondary stuff like that ruin my relationship with music. Many of the bands I like were constitued of asshles that I wouldn't want to hang with as an individual. Take that hypocrit Lennon, for exemple.
I did enjoy it. I didn't watch, I only listened while I was busy doing other things. I especially liked the last song she did. I had to drop what I was doing and go see.
Bruce is one of the most overrated mucians on earth IMHO. Heck groups that cover him sound better Much better than Bruces version
LOL to that whole post. I thought her performance was great and her voice beautiful. It was a fun halftime without worry over political division...unlike the quote above.
