Again semantics. Faith, belief, .. religion is nothing more than the organization of beliefs. I mean that the beliefs are organized into system. Not that there is an organization to represent those beliefs
What would a law "based on atheism" even look like? You're nonsensical to the point of absurdity. Btw, there have been--and still are--many laws against atheism in the world. In Muslim nations, you can be executed for being an atheist.
I don't "believe by faith that there is no god." I don't believe in any god or gods. You aren't getting this distinction, so maybe you should stop replying. Your error is to assume that theism has a logical basis. No observable phenomenon compels us to assume theism.
I get that isn't the intention. It could very well be an unintended consequence. Those so called capitalistic parasites would become socialistic parasites in a heartbeat if you were to make that shift. As i said previously, we are predators by nature. Most of us are used by our own permissions. Some consciously, many unconscious. Better to help those who would be abused up than try to drag the pack leaders down. Im not saying you do, i don't vilify the rich for being rich. There many good folks with wealth. There are many no so good folks without wealth.
1. We are talking about America. 2. Thoes same countries Christians are executed too. 3. What would an atheist law look like? Old ww1 memorials have to be tirn down..
Yes Atheism is a religion.. Yes everyone is religious in their own minds their beliefs are organized and that forms their religion.
Amazing!!! So if you take a parasite, and put socialist in front of it, it is no longer a parasite? That sounds almost like the turning water into wine trick. I would really like to see that in real time.
A parasite is an organism that survives as the result of another organisms hard work. I'd say that describes socialism to a tee.
Ahh, i see. Back to your problem of erroneously equating belief with religion. Perhaps i have always over rated religion as something more than it really is. I have always thought of religion as something more than just belief or faith. Back to my question ... why do feel the need to classify atheism as a religion? Is it an inferiority thing or what?
Do you understand what Right To Work laws are? The protection the Worker from coercion of the Unions. Unions had a benefit, back in the day. Now, virtually every thing they claim to help an employee with, is covered by laws and/or simple negotiation during the hiring process.
Because that is much of what our government does these days. Maybe they feel that if they aren't making laws they have no purpose and we might start to think we don't need them.
Of course it is. Because it only pays people what they're worth to the market and not what you think they should get paid.
If more people unionized, they'd enjoy rights in the workplace, a living wage, decent benefits (including a viable pension plan) and a say in their future. I was white collar and worked union my whole life; when I retired a couple of years ago, under our union contract I enjoyed 7 weeks per year paid vacation, 13 paid holidays, 1 week personal leave, 6 months of short term disability, Long term disability, a real pension plan, a company supplied 401.k (where they contributed the equivalent of 4% of my base pay out of their own pockets into my account, in addition to whatever I voluntarily contributed) a grievance procedure to address issues in the workplace that included arbitration by a neutral third party, work rules, seniority system (which governed vacation picks, layoffs, overall company time), a flexible spending plan and other benefits to numerous to mention here. I always knew when I would get paid (both men and women were paid the same regardless of sex), how much my raise would be and when I'd get it. If there were going to be layoffs (there was never a layoff in my unit in the time I worked there) I knew that that the last hired would be the first laid off; no boss favorites. If the company wanted to give me a merit raise or upgrade, the union never stood in the way of it. If I ever got into trouble (and I never did) the union had an attorney to represent me at no charge to me. Best of all, the company could not sub-contract out work that was covered under the labor contract, we had to do the work. Speaking for myself, working union was the only way for me to work. Are unions perfect? Of course not, but they sure are a better option then working non-union in my opinion. Time for Americans to wake up and smell the roses; someday they'll want to have rights in the workplace and be able to live comfortably without having to worry about medical benefits if they become ill or can they make their house payment this month. Only time will tell.
Reality demands ... That is perhaps the most honest answer anyone could give to my question. Given that we each create our own reality I can fully understand where you are coming from. I always prefer clarity over agreement and you have been very clear. Thank you
