We all know that deregulated gun rights is one of the causes attached to the conservative Republican platform. They claim that less gun control will allow citizens to better defend themselves. However, it's my observation that whenever a black person gets shot by police, vigilantes, or really anyone who isn't black, the conservatives will always make excuses for the killers and disregard the black people's right to defend themselves. This prompts the question: do conservatives believe gun rights extend to black people? After all, if someone like Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, or any other black victim of a shooting had a gun, conservative logic would dictate they'd be able to fight back. So would conservatives allow black people to walk around with guns just like white people in their ideal world?
Trayvon Martin was in the wrong. He was the aggressor. And yes as a conservative I do believe blacks have the right to firearms.
Of course they do. Ironically, many of the restrictions and infringements on gun rights were passed by democrats, with the intent of preventing blacks from obtaining them.
