    No...dipolmatic solutions are always worth trying...especially after all these years of Obama's "war of necessity" It might lead to nothing, but it's at least worth trying. Give peace a chance

    The guys I know that spend a lot of time over there tell me US and Taliban officers text each other regularly to coordinate hits on other insurgents. I don’t suppose the Commander in Chief is going to hurt anything by talking to them.

    No. The Taliban don't do anything outside of Afghanistan and the edges of Pakistan. Trump is grandstanding again.
