They pose the greatest threat to SK and Japan which is why Trump should defer to them as much as possible in this. American leftist opinion is largely irrelevant.

You bolded the WHOLE thing. If you just meant part of it, you should have bolded that part.

Whatever N Korea agreed to, its a better deal than Obama ever got. This is a big problem for you liberals. Ripping on Trump on this really only reminds us what a failure Obama was as well has his former Sec of State, Hillary...

Please don't use Wikipedia as a source when it comes to history.
Wikipedia adopted revisionist history about six or eight years ago.
Wikipedia should only be used as a starting point then continuing your research and always always always go to the Wiki talk page !!!
    For example -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Korean_War

Not the first but one of the earliest proxy wars of the Cold War started in 1950 when North Korea invaded South Korea which was still under WW ll military occupation by the U.S. Army.

    Now pay real close attention...
South Korea is not the United States.
South Korea was not even a territory of the United States.
South Korea is not the USA.

Ok, so at least you seem to realize that nothing actually changed except for a little hope.

    I'm sorry.

I thought US had participated in the Korean War and that Americans had died there.

    My mistake.

Wasn't your argument was that North Korea has been threatening the United States for 70 years ?

There was another proxy war of the Cold War that America was involved in, the Vietnam War.
North Vietnam never threaten the United States.
They just wanted American troops out of the RVN.

All wars are sold to the people because the enemy threatens our security.

    One way or another.

In Korea and Viet Nam, it was necessary to prevent communist expansion, which threatened the political and economic interests of US.

There were 71 proxy wars that were fought during the Cold War.
The Soviet Union was behind the vast majority of these proxy wars.
In many of these proxy wars there were Soviet special ops and special forces involved and Cuban troops and North Korean troops involved.

Remember when Reagan invaded Grenada ?
It just wasn't Cuban troops that American soldiers and Marines were killing but North Korean, East German, Bulgarian and Libyan troops and military advisers.

What's interesting is that the Chi-Coms never tried to force communism against any other sovereign country except maybe Taiwan.
There were never any Chi-Com troops or military advisers in Vietnam or other South Eastern Asian countries or in Central America, Africa or the Middle East leading wars of liberation.

Well, I believe in providing complete context. I also assume people can read and comprehend.

I recognize complete context of statements is something many people on the left are not accustomed to seeing.

Complete context does not require bolding it all. In fact you DIDN'T bold it all. You bolded the part you wanted to refer to, which brings us back to my comment, and makes your objection here totally bogus.

I voted for President Trump and even I think it's too early to tell. I can only think that this is some sort of negotiating tactic.

we all hope this is True and Kim is changing his ways, this would be one good thing for the history books for Trump, and he really needs something

time will tell... to be honest this is more about Kim then Trump, Kim is the decider here - but as Trump has tried to claim it as all his if it goes well, it's all his if goes bad too

I also am one that doesn't think Kim really has nukes, I think the country brags they do, but I highly doubt it

North Korea agreed to a vague concept with zero concrete details.

Obama agreed to a plan that 6 other nations concurred with that got thousands of centrifuges shutdown, thousands of tons of enriched uranium turned over, and inspections of Iran's nuclear sites.

Really?? While the numbers and delivery methods vary from article to article, I think it's believed by just about everybody they have nukes...

    SNIP
Does North Korea have nuclear weapons?
Yes. North Korea has a small arsenal of small nuclear weapons as proven by its six nuclear tests. As of last summer, U.S. intelligence believes that North Korea has enough nuclear fissile material for as many as 60 nuclear weapons based on the amount of enriched uranium and separated plutonium it possesses.

In case you missed it, the President of the United States met face to face with the leader of the DPRK. That has never happened before. In fact, it was the first direct communication in 70.

That's just one of many changes that you apparently missed.

what changes did North Korea agree to, on paper?

did they agree to give up all of their nuclear weapons?

did they agree to have American or NATO inspectors in their country to verify the removal of their nukes?

did they agree to American or NATO inspectors in their country to verify the destruction of all their nuclear centrifuges?

did they agree to dismantle their tens of thousands of artillery pointed at South Korea?

what exactly did we achieve here?

I just pointed out one of the things the US achieved. Never been done since the cease fire in 1953.

I guess patience is a virtue absent in the most ardent anti-Trump forces.

My guess is the strategy that has led to the failure of every single previous effort is, for some reason, the preferred approach for these people.
