Well if you're gonna report me... ...do take care to report yourself while you're at it, there's a good fellow.
Much ado about nothing indeed. Mrs. Doubtfire - beloved movie about man dressed as woman teaching kids lessons in life - movie seen by millions, nobody has the least trouble with it. One guy dressed as woman reading to 20 kids in Washington - conservatives set their hair on fire, rend their clothes and crap their pants en mass. Whatever.
That is one narrative of Mrs Doubtfire. Another one is that it is about a vengeful woman who prevents a man from contact with his own children out of simple maliciousness and that the man is reduced to pretending to be a woman housekeeper to get access to his own friggin children. The movie was a precursor to the men right's movement. Recently, men have begun to gain the upper hand with regards to child custody. I guy I know at work who has full custody of his kids and his ex-wife gets very little access (one day a week and one weekend a month). There are lawyers specifically targeting men for divorce services all the time.
I think there is already a thread or two on this, but if frightening people want to read stories and parents are willing to bring their kids, fine. Why aren't hot lesbians reading stories?
The pretence that there is no overt, or even subtle, sexualisation of the 'female' as presented, is more disturbing than the thing itself. ALL of it is about eros.
Quite the imagination you have there. It's not fine at all, because only criminally incompetent parents would subject their children to such mind rape in the guise of entertainment.
