Crisis in the Mideast and our gas prices remain stable unlike recent history where every incident caused an immediate and drastic increase in crude and gas spike at the pump. Even this time there were dire predictions based on past similar events that failed to materialize . Do you not know we are now the worlds largest oil producer? Do you not remember when liberals said America was running out of oil and we couldn't drill our way out of this? You were wrong.

 

If you are not a US citizen you have no right to say "we". You are a foreigner living here for our freedom and opportunity and apparently a very ungrateful one

 

Imagine if we had not been so heavily reliant on Mideast oil all those years and could get by without its oil like we can now since we drilled our way out of that mess. OPEC no longer has us over an oil barrel. Drill baby drill was a rousing success

 

I thought Trump got his money from the friendly Russians now you say it is the friendly Saudi's. Gotta pick one or admit, President Trump is the most likeable president in history.

 

Your whole premise is faulty, you are not taking principles of economics into account. Even if the US would produce ALL of our oil domestically, price would still go up when oil supply is disrupted by foreign wars, because of the principle of supply and demand. Oil is a worldwide commodity. The attack disrupted 5% of world wide oil supply. Oil prices ARE going up:

The only reasons why gas prices have not gone up yet is that the oil price effect on gas prices is not immediate, and that the damage of the attack is repaired quickly, they'll be at full capacity by the end of September.

The only way to be independent of such events would be to be independent of oil. Are you in?

 

And you are so grateful to your home country that you don't even want the sacrifice of paying taxes. Give me a break. Keep up the illusion that somehow being born here, an event over which you had no control, makes you a better person. That's the shortsightedness that leads to hate of foreigners. First off I never said I'm against all taxes so you are fabricating a story to put it politely.
Secondly I'm saying you are not a US citizen so you have no right to say "we" or "Us" You are a foreigner living here and enjoying the freedom and prosperity us citizens have achieved. By the way you can be a citizen without being born here so this is strike two for you in truth telling.

 

I have never claimed that I am a citizen, so don't accuse me that I am lying, you can go back to ANY of my previous posts. Second, maybe that's beyond comprehension for someone who has never lived outside of their country of birth, you can feel at home in a country of which you do not have a passport. You know, things are often more complicated than the simple us vs.them rhetoric, which is, of course, common in the immigrant-hating part of the population.

Your first lie was claiming I don't want to pay taxes and your now saying I lied about you claiming citizenship which is lie number three. Your second lie was in your previous post when you attempted to equate my remark about citizens to being born in America. That's strike three and your out. Fine with me, you were the one making this about my citizenship anyway, not me. My citizenship had nothing to do with the discussion, but obviously you think that someone who hasn't been born here but has lived in the country for 17+ years cannot refer to the country as "we". LOL! You see, I can get a bit defensive when I feel that my loyalty to the country is questioned just because I wasn't born here. My wife and kids, who are the most important people in my life, are American, how could I not be invested in the country? It just becomes very personal.

Yup, drilling takes years to bring down oil prices if at all.

I was a completions engineer when Obama said it for the first time in 2008, and it sounded ridiculous, but his minions bought it hook, line, and sinker. I'm now a senior production engineer and Obama is taking credit for lower gas prices, which largely happened in spite of him, and his minions are buying it hook, line, and sinker.
