    My usual steak method"

    Steaks at room temp.
coat with EVOO, salt and pepper let stand for 30 minutes

Cast iron pan at high heat, sear steaks - 2 min a side (turning only once) until nice caramelized crust.

Into oven at 350 for 8 minutes (perfect medium rare)

let rest for 5 minutes and dig in.

(I am doomed to avoid butter due to ticker problems).

Dang that sounds quick and easy. I like that you sear it for a little bit, and then toast em in the oven.

Thanks! Gonna have to try this.

I actually got this from a tv show I was watching that had a US Waygu beef rancher on. This was his preferred method, so given he knew a thing or two about premium beef, I figured I'd give it a try. haven't looked back since.

Try a dry rub .. keep it in the refrigerator for a few hours and then message thoroughly with a dab of olive oil.

    Your cooking method is excellent.

I'm a vegan. You should do yourself a favor and read the China Study. It will change your life.

And if you really want to taste your food, switching to veganism is the best thing you can do...it totally changes the way you taste food.

Slow cooking and steak is an abomination. Slow cooking is best for tough meats--like roast.

Dry rub? That sounds interesting :)

    What exactly does that mean?

You're welcome. Honestly read the book the China Study...its a good read even if you decide to do nothing. It gives great insight into how your body processes certain foods and is information a lot of really healthy people don't know. Until I read it, I used to eat fish thinking it was healthy...not realizing how animal protein and casein basically leads to every cancer we have. I cannot describe the difference in how I feel and how much better food tastes these days...you wouldn't believe me if I told you.
