Having SOME familiarity with black powder, though I'd heard pyrotec powder, firecracker is subjective. Now having experimented myself, it's possible he fashioned them independently ... BUT. He mailed a dozen devices of his own design without testing the design? See ... if someone I presume has expertise provides blueprints, I don't need to test them. I don't want to draw attention by testing either.

Not sure on this but it seems !ike most of them were PVC pipe with pyrotechnic powder in them so they would qualify as a very large firecracker.

Same here, there is a huge difference in black powder and aluminum and potassium perchlorate, or flash powder, one is availability! Here in this state we are only allowed three pounds of Black Power a year, not saying there aren't way to get around it, but individually you will be flagged beyond that..

Flash powder is a whole nother beast, you can order it "No problem" but you better do it with a bogus ID and I haven't a clue how one will get it shipped! I looked in to it a long while ago from a seller that told me honestly that they could get it shipped but there was a very good chance the ATF would be there at the time of delivery

Black powder is "OK" but to get all the potential out of it one has to pulverize it to as fine a talc as possible! The process sucks and it is dangerous as BP can ignite with pressure! And I have stated in other posts, a PVC container? Pretty much a firecracker if the BP is used straight out of the can!

See you don't understand, the more you pack the device with non accelerant the less lethal the device becomes, and then SIZE is required to give it sufficient energy to disperse the shrapnel. The PVC alone will greatly reduce pressures and in my opinion would have resulted in a simple jet spray out a weak spot in the PVC wall or simply popped one of the ends off!

Like I say, the guy had a choice, Metal or PVC, both equally available, why he chose a weak housing is yet to be reported! But my guess is, his heart wasn't in to lethality and more to todays "Ten Minutes of FAME"

 

I guess, Many of we liberals are fed up with being shat upon and saying nothing about it, If that sounds violent make the best of it.
