Oh please, it was a single deal made by a single representative so don't act like nations don't do this regularly. The immigration promises that have now started to change because of the populations feeling changin?

Or the fact that Europe doesn't keep to its word of spending 2% militarily perhaps?

Anti American people are so cliche as they hang on to anything they can to try to bemoan the US..

My favorite part about the European Anti-American is when they try to open their mouth about slavery. Where in the same period of the US being a nation, Europe has started 3 major wars (plenty more in the middle) costing over one hundred million lives.

Then you all should stop complaining. You love bad consequences for the U.S.

Stop crying and take responsibility for your own actions. This was a Treaty. Trumps motivation for backing out is his desire for regime change. He made that quite clear. He wishes to bring the people of Iran to such a point of desperation that they will revolt - no doubt killing hundreds of thousands of them. That is what his desire is.

The JCPOA is a deal taking 12 years to conclude, that means it started in Bush's time and ended with Obama. It is exceedingly important for the West. Now there is a clause in it which allows the US to go back on it that is true so the US does have that right. Where it overstepped itself was in believing that it could be dictator of the world and force the rest of the world to try and destroy Iran as well. Stupid move. I have been discussing the issue in the OP and all you can do is cry 'Americanism'. Take responsibility for your actions and the consequences. I take it you are not a child. Be a man. If you try to bully people they will resist you.

To you regime change is two a penny. Other people respect human beings somewhat more.

More to read. Now educate yourself and stop baiting. You made the choice. Now you face the consequences.

This wasn't the "word" of the US. It wasn't a treaty, LIKE THE NPT treaty Iran has signed. This was a deal between Iran and Obama. Obama kept his word. Iran knew Obama would be out in 2017.

Nope, per our constitution, treaties must be approved by Congress. Obama didn't even put it to a vote because he knew they would reject it. The NPT treaty signed by the US and Iran was approved by Congress.

This is what we must expect from Trump's blunt, clueless actions. He wants to act all tough to impress his shrinking base, but he is harming our national interests abroad in the process.

The rest of the world has been moving toward independence from the US$ for decades. This has been predicted and talked about for years, long before Trump. Nothing to do with Trump.

No. Treaties in the U.S. are executed by Congress and only Congress has the power to withdraw from one. While the President represents the U.S. President Obama executed this agreement by himself. While it did bind the U.S., it was not a treaty or anything like a treaty. Only a succeeding presidential signature was required to end it. I never heard the agreement called a treaty in this country because it was not. It was no different than a trade agreement.

And the notion that the American economy cant survive without reserve currency status is still absurd considering every other economy in the world survives just fine.
Losing the reserve currency status will result in higher costs of imports into the US and lower costs of exports from the US to other countries. A reducing of the trade deficit and a currency exchange rate with the dollar dictated by the needs of trade instead of the beliefs of speculators. All good things.

Neither did AUMF or patriot act have that approval. What is your point?

That post is almost incoherent, but even the mainstream media seems to agree that by European consensus, Iran is complying with the nuclear components of the deal. How is the US hurt by sticking to the deal?

Don't you think that our lavish living standards are at least a little dependent on the status quo? We are incredibly wealthy in material terms, and a large part of that is keeping consumer prices down. We can't keep that up if trade balance changes significantly. The dollar would lose a lot of its value, I suspect, and we would suddenly be unable to afford a lot of what we take for granted today. We'd have American Rupees instead of Dollars.

Actually, both the AUMF and the Patriot act was voted on and passed by Congress and you would seem to be clueless regarding matters with which you hold such strong opinions. Typical.

Not at all. UK used to be the reserve currency. They weathered the loss just fine and I suspect our stronger economy could weather the change better than the UK.

Article II Section 2 of the Constitution seems to contradict your statement: "He shall have power, by and with the consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two-thirds of the Senators present concur...."

Would you care to discuss how and when the patriot act was passed? I'm betting you won't, and I'm betting you would prefer not to discuss how many congressmen actually read it. Hint: anthrax was involved.

Would you care to discuss redundancy and sophistry of AUMF as compared to Article II Section 2?

I wouldn't be too sure about that, unless Washington is preparing for war - which it is, and so is Russia. They just formed a war cabinet.

I think the EU's days are numbered, and that the Eurozone states will soon be in recession. It isn't possible to cure an ulcer by applying sticking plasters on it. Problems on the horizon are the Italian economy, fiscal and societal instability in Greece, and mass migration into northern Europe.

You cant comprehend what you are reading because what you quoted from the constitution refuter your assertion and confirmed the other posters assertion you dispute. Your views are based upon ignorance of the matter.

The USA PATRIOT Act is an Act of Congress signed into law by US President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001.

What a beautiful demonstration of how truly clueless you are.

I know the collapse of the US is what you long for but your desires, no matter how strong, will have any effect upon the US economy.

What a beautiful demonstration of your refusal to discuss the historical perspective and context of how that Act was passed. By all means, avoid context. Avoid discussion of the anthrax attacks that brought us that Act, which had been rejected by Congress in April 2001. Keep yourself in the dark.

Kind of irrelevant at this point when you don't believe it was passed by Congress

For some of us, especially those who lived through it, historical context is very important. For those who think as they are told to think, it matters not.
