On again and off again warfare between the Ottomans and Austro-Hungarian Empire and it's various allies would continue for another 150 years not finally coming to and end until the end of the Crimean War. Europe was still partially infested by Muslims during part of the 19th century. In fact Muslims still hold the chunk of Europe where Constantinople is. Hey Constantinople is still being desecrated and called Istanbul.

Parts of the Balkans and Russia are still populated with Muslims.

Some overgeneralizing aside, that's a good point. Arabs weren't always (predominantly) Muslim. However Islam did evolve from Arab culture.

 

The Arab world had plenty of contributions to modern society, both before and after the emergence of Islam as we know it. As to the OP, during the centuries mentioned, most majority muslim areas were in fact in a 'dark age' of violence, conquest and social/cultural stagnation. Europe at this point was just emerging from its own similar 'dark age' resulting from the culturally stagnant remnants of Roman Catholic rule. The Renaissance (which made Europe 'great again') is the term applied to this emergence and is closely tied to a Reformation in Christendom. Arab/Muslim culture (as they are for all intents and purposes one-and-the-same currently) has not yet had its renaissance. No reformation. ...and its in dire need of it.
