Norway, a very prosperous & relatively isolated monarchy, one outside the EU, awarded yesterday the European Union with the Nobel Peace prize: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJy_pUqxL5Q&list=UUDCgvwyjJqZWYs6j0D2FF6g&index=1&feature=plcp reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe Quite a slap over that face of ignorant cold slumber of northern nationalists who say their country should leave the EU.
A slap in the face. I'd ask why, but we really don't need 2 threads that will end up in the same place!
Didn't say in the face but in the face of the sleep. This actually is a separate subject. If moders didn't delete it means it's fine
I think its more of a slap in the face to people who don't think the noble peace prize is a political tool at this point. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it was always this way. Who next? NATO? Come on.
Nobel Peace Prize......what a joke and it has been ever since 1992 when it was awarded to rigoberta mencho for her fake book.
You forget that Norway is not in the EU. How come it didn't give it to some euroskeptics? They too are trying to pull strings in the opposite direction of EU. They too could have given Norway a nice bribe by far.
It's true that people today hold nothing holy, sacred or respectable anymore. I think that even with Jesus Christ coming to Earth for the second time and telling all that EU is the way, people including Christians would crucify him for the second time and perform a full mockery towards him once again.
I don't. I think any politicisation (this is the right way to spell it right??) of the prize is bad and recently its been awarded to the president of the US and a geopolitical alliance. I'm worried that's all. Its not really pro-EU people vs. euroskeptics that I see as the battle here, I think it is far more global in nature than that. On the other hand I realize what I sound like right now, so I'll (*)(*)(*)(*) off before someone accuses me of being some backward bigot, but honestly that's not what its about at all. I think I'm being somewhat objective here.
