If the Bible does imply that the universe is 6000 years old, and the REAL age is over 13 billion, then the Bible is off by a percentage that probably no forum member has ever been off about ANYTHING in their entire life! Think about that. So if YOU knew how the earth and universe was created YOU'D keep the age of both of those from the world, apparently. You wouldn't tell us just like the Bible doesn't directly tell us. Why would you keep that incredibly important knowledge from your children, etc.? Not sure how ethical you would be then.

 

It's not a book of science, and not a book of ethics*, because it knows neither.

*Moses was a mass-murdering, slave-taking, approver of rape. Elijah had 450 people murdered. The invisible friend in the sky killed innocent Egyptian first-born sons - babies even. The list of Biblical atrocities is endless.

 

To be honest about it there's no objective evidence that substantiates the 13-14 billion old age of the universe. Some guys just pulled that figure out of their butts to convince people that they knew what they were talking about. We can say that based upon reasonable interpretation of available data that some celestial bodies are billions of years old but it's a stretch to peg the age of the universe at 13-14 billion years old. It could be 100 billion years old or older.

 

Yes, god/Jesus "loves" Hindus so much that according to many many verses in the Bible, non-believers like Hindus will not only NOT get into the invisible happy place up in the sky, but are so vile, such scum (apparently) that they DESERVE nothing more than brutal torture for eternity....not even Gandhi!
