No the government allows people to check each other and only annuls the marriages of those stupid enough to say yep our kids will have A B or C but we should still start a family.

I believe every person alive was going to be born into a body, and that its like a waiting list (no not that we are alive before conception) so preventing having intentionally disabled children makes them have a better life in a different body.

If test costs are reasonable it could be tested for at the time of an application for a marriage license.

I specifically am a sickle cell carrier. I really want to prevent myself from having kids with someone who is also a carrier, so I want to be able to say, show me your card and know 100% its not going to be a disaster.

Well, I'd argue it's older then that, but at least in terms of the United States, it goes back to the 18th Century when the Bill of Rights were ratified....the 1st gives us a right to our private beliefs, the 3rd a right to privacy of our homes, same with the 4th, that even goes further to our persons.

I do have sympathy for your extraordinary burden and your wanting to take responsibility for the good of humanity.

Physicians, especially black physicians, most likely have this under consideration. I hope they soon have a solution -- before politicians get hold of it.

No! If you know you have a disease or are a carrier, its your responsibility to disclose that to your partner, take the necessary action to prevent an unwanted pregnancy or live with the consequences of your actions. Delegating that responsibility to the government would result in you being forcibly sterilized or quarantined, or maybe just euthanized if the government decides that is their best course of action.

 

better yet, euthanize the f*ckers as they sign up for the 'passports'... protect the masses, exterminate the inferior & sick...
