Jussie will not be in the final two episodes of this season and producers are considering recasting him for season 6 but no final decision has been made. I'm sure they are waiting for the outcome of the legal proceedings. Apparently, after being released from custody, Jussie went to the Empire facilities and begged the cast and crew to believe that he's innocent.

There are three original Lyon sons and Jussie (who plays Jamal) is the most magnetic sibling. Andre is the best looking and in real life a Yale graduate. Hakeem is the main rapper on the show. Each of the Lyon sons has their own swag and the writers did a good job developing their multi-layered personas.

Having someone else play Jussie, if he is found guilty, is the only way forward that I see for the show because Empire would need an extreme makeover to survive without Jussie's character. Other than the parents, he is the main attraction. Of course, there would be the inevitable comparisons so any replacement had better be very talented and charming like the current Jamal. Season 5 has been on hiatus for about 3 months. It comes back on March 13th.

I did not follow this at all until the cops arrested Smollett. Then, I took a few minutes to see what they had to say.

When the story broke, I ignored it. To me, it seemed like just another ugly street incident that is all too common in an age in which the President of the United States incites this kind of violence, and the right and left wing noise machines bleat thier outrage at each incident as it shows up in social media and blogs.

I stopped paying attention to mostof this stuff. There's not much anyone can do about it except to wait until Trumpism does and people calm down.

So, I did not comment on this story.

Apparantly,both Trump and Pelosi did. I wasn't paying attention.

When Smollentt was exposed, I only posted one comment, and that was to note the way the right wing was busy being obsessed over it, and apparantly was yelling "fake news" before they had any idea that the story might be fake.

I have long since passed the time when I scheduled my life around television shows. I understand that "Empire" has gotten good reviews. But I have never seen it.

The comments and behavior of sports and entertainment celebrities on political matters do not matter to me at all. None of these poeple can pass a law, or has any political power.

All of them occupy spaces in the minds of people who place equal emphasis on enterainment and politics (which is one of the core problems that led to the rise of Trumpism).

Entertainment is not government. And entertainers are no influencial political or business leaders.

Smollett made a prize fool of himself. His acting career is over. His behavior appears to be an exploitive act of self indulgence.

What he did, does pose a threat to clear dialogue, and civil discourse. A selfish attempt to exploit people's emotions for personal gain.

These numbers have absolutely zero context to them(also, they stretch logic greatly by implying that there must be some educational or racial reason for the difference in affinity levels.) I could talk about how there are real social differences between the groups and the individuals in said groups, but just like you think "I'm making something up and asserting it as fact", I highly doubt you're in the mood for a lesson on psychology and group think.

That said, even when accounting for all of the Whites(with or without a collegiate degree), they could only find 17% with low affinity(not that this counts as anything racial, again mind you.)
