Trump is doing everything a president can do. Our future is up to the great unwashed masses of Obamatons to understand our situation and behave accordingly.

    I have grave doubts.

My hunch is that it's not the obamatons you need to be worrying about.

Now that he decided it isn't a hoax. and the infections won't be down to zero in a few weeks, and it isn't just magically going away, and it isn't just the flu.

He is doing what he should have done two months ago. He will have killed a lot of people and surely has already. It took experts screaming at him for six weeks before it sank into his thick head that this is a crisis. Only now is he finally getting it.

No, it is people like all the trumpers who were in churches yesterday.

Even now they are too damned stupid to stay home.

    Please start telling the truth.

He never said the virus was a hoax. He said the Dem talking points were a hoax.

He said "It is their new hoax." Now, even if you believe that quote was perfectly clear (and it is not), then it is still a really dumb idea to use the word hoax while discussing the virus.

He definitely did the exact opposite of what a President should do (and continues in that fashion to this day).

Trump and his political appointees repeatedly lied about the virus: 1 and 2.
They repeatedly downplayed the threat of the virus: 1 and 2.
They repeatedly touted the benefits of the virus: 1 and 2.
They repeatedly contradicted health experts: 1 and 2.
They repeatedly placed the lives of Americans at greater health risk: 1 and 2.
They repeatedly slowed the start of testing because of ineptitude and political self-interest: 1 and 2.
They dismantled the epidemic response team, attempted to cut health budgets, and dismissed the expert on Chinese Viruses: 1, 2 and 3.
They repeatedly politicized the virus: 1, 2 and 3.

    Will they make a vaccine?
If they don't make a vaccine, what happens then?

100% pure opinionated political conjecture, same with most your posts when you type the name Trump. Most Americans don't agree with you and your taking a couple words out of context to bash Trump. This isn't a red/blue virus it's an international pandemic that has affected the world and has proven to America once again that our government has to rely on private business to save the world. Same in WW1 and WW2, we are the greatest country in America and we don't need a minute by minute negative report card from partisans. There are things Trump could have done better but most things he has gotten right. Including travel bans, removing stupid drug and testing regulations that do nothing but slow everything down, got the FDA focused on getting treatment, vaccines, and the best testing fast tracked. This administration also led the way for stimulus, ran a very organized logistic chain for the states and most importantly have been preaching for a month social distancing, washing hands etc, which is the foundation of not spreading this disease.

The FDA slowed the test creation down but with focus and regulation reform we now have tested more than anyone in the world with 1.1million tested and over 100,000 being tested every day. We now have new 5 minute testing equipment being delivered today. This is absolutely amazing the speed at which we have gotten up to speed with RELIABLE testing and now onsite results. Trump has forced the government to get out of the way and has done an amazing job coordinating private business to completely change their business models to support this country, that's an accomplishment that will be a model going forward.

Yea...the notion that you can dismiss all of those sources as pure opinionated political conjecture despite recognizing that they all explicitly quote Trump, his political appointees, and directly cite actions taken is laughable - especially in light of the fact that you immediately launch into your own "pure opinionated political conjecture" that attempts to tout all of the good things that trump "eventually" did.

The problem with Trump's lack of testing, for example, is not the fact that he eventually removed all of the obstructions or motivated the production and distribution of a record setting number of tests. The problem is that he waited so long to do such and now the US is dealing with the largest number of new and active cases in the world.

Well that sucks big time. So is there a bill before Congress to distribute masks and make them a prescription item so hoarding can't occur?

All those sources were your opinion and the polls thankfully say most don't agree with you. They watch the press conferences they see the struggle and the actions and don't need the MSM telling them what to think.

On the testing what do you think Trump could wave a wan come up with a reliable test, the facility to do the test and the manufactures to make it in a day to two? That's dumb it takes time and we now have a blueprint for the next Chinese pandemic. The testing of 1 million in 8 days is amazing, the new onsite results lab is even more amazing. We all wish we wouldn't have been put in this situation but the only way we could've done what you think was easy would've have been that OBAMA removed all the restrictions for the FDA in Emergency situations during swine flu. Not his fault it didn't happen because this virus is much more contagious. This blueprint is a model for the future and it's not going to be perfect because it's all happened within 6 weeks. We're going to get some things wrong, we fix it and become more prepared next time the next pandemic from China hits us. Thank god this one is a killer like some could imagine the next one will be.

    Things we've learned:
Shut down the damn borders immediately.
Unleash the FDC and CDC by removing regulations
    Unleash the private sector approval
    Social distancing
Poor everything into testing and pray the government and or Private business can quickly come up with a reliable test moving forward.
Hopefully this virus gives us tools to handle the next one.
