I don't know about that but it would be a battle between Biden and Trump.

Why is it that whenever I hear that phrase I hear my mother saying it, and my father looking up from the Dynakit Pre-Amplifier he was soldering; "Mother, don't use cliches."

My upbringing was unique and enjoyable, it has profited me no end

Do you really and truly think that the ones who believe Tom Hanks and Lady Gaga eat children at orgies are the saner ones in Washington?

Thats true. I should've specified federal and regular forces. The guard is treated more as a 'posse' in this context and can be summoned to service by the office of the governor, and in many states, by the county Sheriff as well.

Its worth noting that in such a case as a state were to employ the guard in a law enforcement capacity against a region where the Sheriff is legally defined as the 'chief law enforcement official' (which is the case in about 1/3 of the US), the guard would be under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff.

Posse Comitatus was written in 1878 to forbid federal troops from being involved in civilian law enforcement after the Civil War.

It was sacrificed during Reagan's administration at the altar of the war on drugs, and over the objection of Cap Weinberger. For all practical purposes today, it has been rendered null and void, as we can see.

Though I think the use of term 'insurrection' regarding the capital riot is completely ridiculous, I do think the govt should be able to call in military troops in the event that a real one were to occur. We clearly need to more objectively define the term to not include a small group of unarmed people trespassing and vandalizing.

Yeah... I've noticed their fairness. You characterize me based on your own biases and no problems, I say what I perceive you to be, I get nailed for it. It seems that pointing out Leftist hypocrisy is "political flame-baiting". Whatever... the net is a very large place and if opinions aren't welcome in one area, I'll find others. It doesn't minimize ME in any way. Echo chambers must be protected, I guess. Free speech seems to be dangerous for some sites these days. Those who fear it should probably look into their OWN biases rather than condemning the opinions of others.

Liberals bring this stuff down on themselves. Everyone is just sick and tired of all the BS. Little twerps sitting behind their computers looking through everybody's Tweets, Facebook pages and social media sites to see if they can stir up a "I gotcha". Instead of people reaching out the opposite is happening. I think were in for a long hot summer of confrontation. I know it's already happening in my family as some of us are not listening to the crap others want to spew.

How can say that? The legal votes weren't allowed to be counted and the illegal ones were.

Guess that way people don't have to be responsible for their own actions? Trumps cross is almost as heavy as Jesus was.

The one that irritates me is the hours between midnight and 3 am the day after the election and the votes were switched.......and I mean it.

Italia Marie Kelly, 22 and biracial, was one of two people fatally shot on May 31, 2020. She was attending a George Floyd protest in Davenport, Iowa and decided to leave after it got out of controll in a Wal-Mart parking lot. She was shot in the back when she tried to get into her car. Her sister took to social media balling her eyes out.

Davenport had several days where cop cars were shot at or people tried to ambush cops. Black Lives Matter, Antifa and wild kids decided to be violent and hate on cops and Trump supporters. The Democrats, news and left mostly supported these people around the country and bailed many out of jail. The left only wants you to see right wing violence so everyone will believe left wing violence is not as bad.

Italia's killer was found. Parker Beltz, 21 was arrested and police say he had intent to kill.

Kelly’s 19-year-old sister Jasmine Kelly went to Facebook Live to alert the public, warning that “a protester shot my sister: A protester, not the police!”

“My sister is gone because one of you, a protester, shot my sister. A protester, not the police!”

“Because you guys, I lost my sister,” she continued.“I lost my sister because of you. You! “You are so mad at the police that you are hurting everyone else.

“You’re so mad at the police, you guys killed my sister.”“For those who don’t know, it wasn’t the police who shot my sister, it was one of y’all!” she exclaimed.“And I swear to God we will find out who the f*** did it, and I promise to God it will be the last thing y’all ever remember,”

Jasmine said, in tears.“Y’all wild as f***, y’all walk around with guns, and you act and you pretend to be tough and you pretend to be something you’re not, and you got my sister killed.” “Not by the police,” she emphasized, “but by your ignorance, by you’re f***ing ignorance I gotta bury my sister. “I gotta bury my sister because y’all brought guns. “It wasn’t a rubber bullet, it was a f***ing gun"

America has been a free country. Not long ago that freedom included the ability to visit the capitol. The freedoms disappear one at a time without taking a breath.

I'm surprised protests haven't put themselves out of business. People continue to patronize them. Amazing.

Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament are world-famous for their Guards. Are the freedoms of the British people disappearing?

Fer Crissake the Capitol of the US is our MAIN GOVERNMENT BUILDING, it's SUPPOSED to have guards just for the symbolism if nothing else.

Have you been there? They are decorations. There aren't enough of them to fight off a Los Angeles street gang. Brits don't have the freedom to visit these places. Do you want to see our freedoms continue to disappear?

There are a LOT more of those guards than they let on. Most of them more than a match for the best in the world.

And I couldn't care less if I can visit the Capitol. I'm far more interested in my freedom to vote, which Republicans are trying their best to suppress.

The capitol police have been there for as long as I can remember. Troops and razor wire are beyond ridiculous.

Between the beginning of the "protests" over Saint Floyd's demise and the election, about 6 million firearms were sold. 40% were purchased by first-time gun buyers. Does that tell you anything? It tells me that even those on the Left are waking up to the fact that this nation is slipping deeper into lawlessness. There is no "right-wing" mass movement causing violence. It just doesn't exist. The marches we saw last year with groups like the "proud boys" were just a reaction to the ONGOING insanity by Antifa and BLM. Even then, there were no shootings or other murders. Characterizing the idiocy we saw on 1/6 as "Insurrection" is a media/Democrat crafted propaganda tool. No guns, no bombs, no fires being set... that's a pretty darned feckless attempt to "take over the government".
It's my sincere hope that this illegitimate government we have doesn't attempt to do serious damage to 2A. That will simply not be tolerated.

Who are you to make such a determination for millions of other Americans? 2A isn't a right given to us by the DC Elite. They also have no right - or ABILITY - to remove it from us. Period... FULL STOP.

Not when you have thousands of crazies on the net saying they're going to burn it down every day.

Look, these are Congresspeople and even celebrities need several bodyguards nowadays. Do you really think it's proper to have less Security around Alexandria Ocasio Cortez than Roseanne Barr?
