...which was a direct result of the DNC choosing to run the candidate that they did. Maybe next time they should just let the voters decide, eh? Seeing as how the voters will be the ones deciding in the general election, it might be a good idea.

it was because many thought Trump had no chance of winning, so they stayed home.... lesson learned for them I hope

everyone should always vote, no matter what, every vote counts

Hillary won the Popular vote.... so more voters wanted her than Trump, but the way our system works, the popular vote doesn't pick presidents, so Trump won by default

Nobody is trying to argue that he didn't win and that he is not President, but he did NOT win by any amount that indicates real popular support.

He won because of the PHYSICAL PLACEMENT OF HIS MAJORITIES, not by any real metric. In order to make his victory the indicator of the popular support you're all claiming you have to assume that NOBODY in any state or even county that went for him voted for Hillary

Going by the popular election he is at present the LEAST popular President ever to exist, at least at this point in his administration.

But go ahead, keep up all your arrogant bull(*)(*)(*)(*) and set about dismantling programs which a fairly significant majority of the population are in favor of, it will just make you that much easier to wipe out in 2018, when there will be no arcane relic of the 18th century to help you

But there will something modern to help the republicans in the House. And that's the redistricting lines. Therefore the House is unlikely to change much.

As for the Senate it's better to hold off your threat until 2020.
In 2018 there will be 23 democrats (and two independents who caucus with the democrats) up for re-election. Only eight republicans will be up. So it's more likely the democrats will lose ground.

In 2020 there's 22 Senate Republicans and only 11 Democrats up for re-election. Plus with the national election in that sane year a strong democratic presidential candidate could possibly bring in a tide of democrats.

Unless of course the democrats decide to run another candidate so unpopular that they can't beat the most unpopular candidate to ever run.

When taken in context, while his victory is not landslide in the general sense of that term, in another way it was a landslide miracle. For trump took on and beat what was thought to be unbeatable. He beat Clinton and the banana republic democrats, the establishment GOP and MSM. He even beat the polling. So, his victory made history given the context and what he was up against. This win will never be forgotten and trump will be far above Obama, Bush and Bill Clinton when it comes to election outcomes. On top of that, the GOP now have both the House and the Senate. I still remember when Obama won in 08, MSM, even FOX were all saying with such a defeat, with the dems having both branches in congress, that it looked like the GOP would be out of power for decades. Yet it only took 8 years of Obama and the democrats to implode and the GOP come back. Which shows you just how screwed up the current dems are. They should all be fired yet the kind of people who voted for Clinton will insure this party remains irrelevant and toothless.

That it was the opposite of liberal predictions, is in effect, an upsetting landslide victory. Why would you deny this?

The MSM leaked debate questions to Clinton. Without that fix Sanders would have won the nomination.
The MSM also leaked debate questions to Clinton in the general. Without that fix she would have collapsed during the debates, and lost by an even greater margin.
