    Holy sh*t...

From my own experience and observations growing up there, we could see the massive expansion in the size of the federal government reflected in the explosion of development all around us, which destroyed much of the original character of the region. Since then it's become my measuring stick for out-of-control development anywhere else in Virginia and throughout the country. As if the quality of life and infrastructure problems weren't bad enough, the corruption of local governments has arguably been the worst manifestation of it. I can't begin to count the number of politicians who have prostituted themselves to developers. For the longest time the Commonwealth's unofficial motto wasn't "Virginia is for lovers", it was "Virginia is for SLAPP suits". Appalling....

Well Sally, a young girl like you probably doesn't understand complex issues like this. Maybe you should ask your Daddy about it.

Hey... No ****?? Only 1 year for me before we moved...

    It's a small world isn't it....

The pros are we have everything we need and want within 15 minutes.... several choices of each normally...

The best schools and jobs, great youth sports, Health care, Athletic facilities, Entertainment, Safety

I can see my wife and I moving elsewhere when we get older, but she won't even think about it yet...

Pretty narrow minded view of life... no wonder you're terrified of the near future...

Terrified of the near future? Sure sparky.

Narrow minded? Those are the literal definitions for those words. Furries are a fetish, not a gender. Chopping your **** off and having a **** hole carved out of it that shares a biome with your colon does not make you a woman. Having a skin graft over your **** and wrapping that graft around a ratcheting psuedo penis and pump doesn't make you a man.

Your physical sex and obtaining of the age of majority determines if you are a man or a woman. By definition. Literally.

We are getting off topic but, this is comical listening to you two that couldn't hack it. Welcome to progress, it's quick and if you can't network people with money you are going to get left behind.
People come from all over the world to America with one purpose. To make money, and here you two are running from it :roflol:.

Well, you found the drop out spot WV. I guess as long as you steer clear of the meth problem you should find a decent survival, and cheap rent. Progression isn't for everyone I guess.

You got to remember, if they are paying a million for those houses, and buying land for 14 million..You may want to stick around to be the guy they pay the big bucks to wire BMS in their facility.

Since when are the Democrats the party of kissing millionaire ***? I thought it was the polar opposite. I thought Democrats were “for the working class”. Sorry Chief, I don’t see how paying a half million for a 1 bedroom place is “progress”.

It’s easy to see why you have 5k messages to 1k likes.

Message likes is a metric for you? That's cute, but I'll play, first of all that a like for every 5 messages, and second it was at 2k likes years ago before they switched platforms and cleared 90% of the old threads. When they clear threads it removes likes.

But when I start caring, I'll just spam the place with catch phrases like "lock her up" which attracts the tribal minded individuals to spam the like button, deal?

Okay? Funny how you didn’t address what I said. You basically come in here and say “You should jump in and kiss the millionaire butt, it’s the American way”….. but that’s the POLAR opposite stance that the vast majority on your party supposedly stand for. Maybe they are just full of ****. It sounds to me like you enjoy seeing people struggle. That’s some dark stuff there man. You should seek religion.

Yea right, growing up isn't hard, try it sometime.
Nothing about my post says kiss anyone's butt, it points out the fact that you couldn't hack it, when the chips got rough you ran.

How do you know “I can’t hack it”? You don’t even know who I am, where I come from, or what I have done for a living. You know nothing about me. All I’m doing is simply pointing out a ridiculous cost-of-living area and your response is “you can’t hack it”? The prices in these areas would have 80-90% of the population in debt like a slave. Don’t you get that?

You fail to see the problem. "misgendering" should not exist. The English language has provided terminology for both genders and it has worked well for centuries.

I know the area, and the same sob story.
As a single parent with a kid in school, I concur that this is just a hit piece.
But like I wrote earlier, we are now off topic.

We are “off-topic” because you can’t defend it. It’s ridiculous and everyone knows it is. This may come as a surprise to you, but the vast majority of people in this country will never earn the salaries of doctors, politicians and high-end business people. The vast majority of us are just scrambled in the middle. These people deserve to live in descent accommodations at descent prices. Apparently, you think that’s funny. I don’t.

Just A Union guy, that can network.

What are you talking about, “network”? So is that a requirement? If somebody can’t “network”, **** em? What if somebody just wants to go to work, work hard, and go home? Is that not enough?

You remind of people who "arnt here to make friends". Well I guess if that floats your boat.

What an absurd number of assumptions on your part. I had a high paying job when I lived in VA. Retired, and then took a high level corporate management job. I made the big bucks. Because on the business development side of government contracting you get a percentage of any government contract that is awarded. I am now fully retired, living along the Patomac river in a large house and a large propety. I have a retirement pernsion fully indexed to the cost of living. My life is great. I don't fully avoid Northern VA and will be there this weekend for the Steely Dan concert at Wolf Trap. Cheap drop out spot my ass. It is amazing how liberals claim to hate stereotypes but then constantly use stereotypes themselves, e.g., "steer clear of the meth problem." lol

I would be curious what you do for a living. Fifty Cent Army perhaps.

Awsome. Could you have done any of that in a red controlled city with a conservative majority?

It's not a stereotype it's their agenda to remain nonprosperous and fight progressives. They are called conservatives for a reason.

Mater of fact, can anyone point out a conservative majority city, with conservative leadership, that's prosperous due to conservative policies?

The thriving economy in the DC area has nothing to do with the Washington DC local government. Rather, Federal jobs and contracting drive the economy. It should be noted that the trend now, and in the past, is too move Federal agencies and employees out of DC. Thanks to Robert Byrd a lot of those jobs were moved to West VA.
