cause we elected the Legislators and the Legislators passed a law.

its the democratic will of the people.

that really is no answer I asked what you thought. slavery was once the law of the land, So was Jim Crow, so was women not voting, and at one time, any american could buy a machine gun in the local gun store if they could afford it. SOme laws are good, some laws are bad. I support laws that protect freedom. I don't support laws that prevent freemen from owning the same weapons or types of weapons that civilian police forces have access to

I also don't have much use for legislators who pass stupid laws. NY Gun laws are stupid, and should be struck down as unconstitutional in many cases

I wish you would share the additional information you have because from the little that was posted I can't draw any conclusion as yet.

    1. If somebody wanted to buy a gun despite all that they heard -
    a) Was this impromptu shop able to legit sell them a gun
    b) Were the guns even real
    c) Would a camera man jump out from behind the counter and say "Gotcha"

    2. Did they get any permission to have those guns on hand / get approval from the regulators?
Somebody above said they called the NYPD on this crew... are they going to be arrested?

    3. The video said first time gun buyers, is that true or are they really good actors?

Only after we know more can we determine if this was an educational exercise or bovine excrement as you put it

Great points, TD. I agree with you 100%. :) NY has tried to pass many stupid laws, such as their laws against "Big Gulps." As if they have the right to tell we the people what we can and cannot consume into our own bodies. Ridiculous.

the funny thing about this video is that it suggests that there are no gun stores in NYC.

I know of at least 8.

agree, I am pro-choice, not gov-choice when it comes to personal things like that

be it guns, pop, abortion, drugs, you name it, let the people decide for themselves

if they commit crimes with these items, then arrest them for the crimes, not just for having the items

Agreed. I am a big fan of individual freedom to make your own choices with regards to your own body, life and your choice of protecting yourself or not.

If I recall correctly they broke NEW YORK law that makes it illegal to have fake guns. I hope the scumbags get the book thrown at them.

This is reminiscent of another post a few months ago where an anti-gun group posted a video that advocated a child stealing his/her parents' gun (which is a crime) and bringing this gun to school (which is another crime) to give to his teacher (which is yet another crime) because he was "afraid" of having a gun in his house. This video is just as bad, but instead of advocating a child to commit multiple gun-related crimes, this anti-gun group is personally committing the crimes, since it is illegal to sell firearms without a FFL or replicas of firearms within city limits. It is also illegal to falsely advertise a product.

These anti-gun zealots never fail to sink to new lows. As usual, their message backfired, and I am happy that they wasted a bunch of their money on this idiotic stunt.

Of note, was the actor playing the store owner the same actor who voices Michael from Grand Theft Auto V? If so, then what a huge hypocrite he is.

Having fake guns in NYC. It's against the law.

Looks like they are now finding this out, and the NRA is considering throwing these guys in court.

    AHAHAHAHAHA

it is pure unadulterated (*)(*)(*)(*). It resembles in no way that it is educational on any level. it is a farce about legitimate first time buyers being dissuaded about owning guns. This is in the same vein as the video about the kid taking his dad's gun to school and turning it over to the teacher because he didn't feel safe at home. That too, was nothing but squirrel scat

Considering the political makeup of New York City, it would appear unlikely that this group will face prosecution, due to the message they were attempting to convey. Just as the news journalist who violated the District of Columbia's magazine ban was not prosecuted in the interest of justice, the same will likely apply here.

It would appear that something is not a crime unless the person who commits the act is either conservative, or is attempting to convey a conservative message.

I have thought about this. I know when I purchase a weapon and if someone from behind the counter started talking this gibberish I would shut him or her down and question them on why they took this approach.
