If the anal-retentive elites trusted the people they wouldn't worry about anything whatever being published. But they don't trust the people and they want to control the people by controlling what they see and read. To them there's nothing worse than the little guy making up his own mind.
Yep, he is bad. Sorry you don't like it or disagree, but he is. He's been bad for a long time. We've all known this. There's a reason all his financials are with a bank known for laundering Russian money. There's a reason why women have accused him of doing bad things. Why you suddenly find all his flaws virtues is the interesting part, because that says a lot about you and very little about me.
If you say so. And you posted on the internet, so you must be right. There's also no way to spin yourself out of being unable to properly comprehend written language, which I would rather be in my situation than yours. Feel free to disagree all you want.
Yes, MSM = Fake News. Everyone is onto the scam now. Hence Trump. "Marie Antoinette did not cause the French Revolution by saying 'Let them eat cake.' And journalists who earn more in a day, by giving a speech, than the average American family earns in a year are not what's most wrong with today's press. They are, however, vivid symbols of larger attitudes that the public dislikes in the media. Like other symbols of excess, from Marie Antoinette to the toilet seat, today's journalistic 'buckrakers' have the potential to undermine themselves and their institution by weakening such trust as the public now has in them. The media establishment may soon wish that it had corrected the problem while it could." James Fallows, p. 84.
Wrong again. Reporting it down the center is coloring it. Report the truth as simply the truth with no attempt to change or alter it. Then even editorialize it if you want to suggest a left or right takeaway from the facts. Just do it based on facts.
Reporting the truth is reporting straight down the center without any left or right bias spin. How is that wrong ???
The truth can be on the left or the right or right down the middle. Unbiased reporting would reflect that reality. OTOH, the very biased MSM has specialized in Fake News for decades. "[T]he growing numbers, ironically, accompany a growing uniformity of content. In the last generation all newspapers have become similar in content and approach. Most magazines have become specialized in content, but major magazines that deal with political, social, and economic information are increasingly similar in political and economic orientation. There is such imitativeness in radio and television that it is almost arbitrary which station is heard." Ben H. Bagdikian, "The Media Monopoly," Boston Beacon Press 1990, P 222.
Agreed but if the truth is left or right that is right down the truthfulness middle. Remember the Journolist in which left biased MSM "reporters" would electronically conference and decide what the talking points and phrases would be for the next few days and then all the reporting from multiple sources sounded the same. That appears to be exactly what is going on now days. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JournoList
All media seem to be wedded to Fake News now, but LW and RW sources tend to be especially credible when they report against their bias. Here is an example: MOTHER JONES, 400,000 Scientists All Over the World Have Been Published in Fake Journals, Journalists investigated widespread fraud within the scientific publishing community., BY KARI SONDEJUL. 20, 2018. https://www.motherjones.com/media/2018/07/real-news-tackles-fake-science/
Because sometimes the truth leans one way or another. If I say someone got a life-saving operation on Medicaid, that's left-leaning truth because Medicaid is socialism., It's OK to say that sometimes socialism works using that example. It's not a lie and it's not coloring the truth. If I point out a case where a homeowner defended his home from 7 armed invaders by using his AR-15, that's defending the right to keep and bear arms, generally considered a right-leaning idea. The story is right-leaning but is not colored. It is what it is. You might be saying the same thing, calling just reporting the truth as being center, but center is usually considered to be between right and left. If I have to change either of those example stories to move them from left and right, respectively, then I have colored the truth.
guess he was just acting Presidential ... the new Trump standard... he should be impeached but not removed right? faux news is nothing but fake news by your definition if one supports a President that lies all the time, why would they care if a news person lies in a tweet and then right after actually admit he made it up Trump lies and never admits it, not right away, not ever.. remember the lie about the boy scoots Trump made, or all the other fake news Trump has spread via twitter and the media
agree, our schools education was pictures of deformed people from venereal disease to scare us from having sex... pretty sick and twisted imo abstinence only teachers can be scary people and as Palin says... it's not realistic
Getting a life saving operation paid for by Medicaid is an accurate description of what happened. That is straight down the middle. Medicaid is a social safety net paid for by taxpayers. It’s a terrible system but that’s what we have.
How is cnn not a propaganda machine for the left? They got busted with the debate questions hand off in the last election. That's basically proof. Btw, I never denied that fox is propaganda for the right but they do not make up fake conversations and give debate answers to righty candidates. Do they put a righty spin on everything? Yes, of course. CNN literally has zero shame. FOX also has town halls with people from the other side and even had TWO with mayor Pete. CNN used to be a good station to turn to when I got bored with all of the negative Obama stuff on Fox. I thought it was excessive. I didn't really know what "excessive" meant until watching CNN Trump's coverage. They are all a bit skummy but CNN wins first place by a longshot. I might give newsmax a look see
What other major news outlet is right wing? You skipped more left leaning major news outlets like NBC (separate from MSNBC) and ABC. Are you whining that there's a bunch of left leaning propaganda and only one right wing outlet? Odd argument but okay... lol
All the major media in the US is owned by a handful of dominant corporations and the news you see is going to reflect this. Most of these news sources don't actually lie to you except by omission but none of them do good investigative journalism and all of them represent the point of view of their ownership and pander to the sensational and the spectacle rather than truth because that is what sells advertising to their bases. I hate to say this but watching Fox anchors lobbing low-ball questions to Trump to make him look competent or intelligent is just about as fake as news gets but this represents the position of it's owner, Robert Murdoch, an extreme version of Libertarian, right wing corporate elitism. You have to understand that all corporate media presents news that is filtered for content before it even gets to you through various lenses of ownership, what advertisers will tolerate and editorial position of it's editors. Sources like CNN will often use the false technique of presenting two opposing expert opinions on a subject in order to give the impression of impartiality but when you look at their experts, people like James Clapper or Rand Paul or Bob Woodward, you have to understand that you are not getting an impartial opinion but one that presents the dominant corporate narrative on a host of issues such as war, American public, domestic and foreign policy. People here bemoan the supposed left-wing media but the truth is that real independent left-wing voices such as Chris Hedges, Abby Martin, Amy Goodman or Ana Kasperian ( who has been on Chris Cuomo before to CNN's credit) just cannot get into the public media because independent journalism is just not allowed anymore. Even algorithms are designed to make it harder to search for these kinds of voices and restrict access to different viewpoints. It's why the only place you will see voices like Chris or Abby is on places like RT or independent internet sites like RealNews. I've never seen any of the mainstream news sources of either ilk really dig up Donald Trump's past financial dealing during the Trump Taj Mahal or Soho era or his legacy of New Jersey casinos. The only place you really find that kind of fact-based investigative journalism anymore is places like New Republic or independent internet media.
I was too lazy to type it all. Thank you for further proving the point! The snowflakes whine about Fox yet it's the ONLY right leaning major network. Meanwhile, all other major networks are left leaning.
Then why do we not see them actively promoting left-leaning policies that poll after poll suggest the American people support such as universal health care or free education? Why do they only present the view of corporate democrats like Schiff or Pelosy or even Biden and suppress issues of real left-leaners like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren as fringe or unworthy of serious discussion? Why do the cheerlead every single foreign war the US gets itself caught up in? Truth is, what you consider left-leaning is centrist, corporate mainstream and places like Fox news are extreme right-wing catering to financial and social libertarianism.
