    I agree with much of what you say here. We are truly in the middle of an Us vs Them mindset that is ripping the nation in half. Politicians seize on this mentality and use it for their own aggrandizement. Media falls into the same kind of thing with narrative strategies that pull in the public. Advertisers and other economic interests aren't about to pass up on such a lucrative opportunity either.

    Additionally, we are filled with biases and stereotypes. There's no avoiding that because that's part of the human psychology. Those in power or who want power know how easy it is to manipulate our biases and encourage our stereotypes, and they use that to motivate us. When we look around at how the seeds of division are planted in minds using media technology, we can only shake our heads at how easy it all is.

    Give people someone or something to hate, something to see as the enemy, and they line up behind you. Feed the narrative, expand it to some kind of conspiracy to take over, add a little fear, selectively edit reality, and repeat the narrative over and over in the media so we can focus on the enemy, and you have control. Give them an Emmanuel Goldstein and the people will give you loyalty.

    All of this is not a one-sided issue. There is no good media or unbiased media. There is no less-biased media. If we believe without question what we read, hear, and see on media, we are the cause of our own destruction. We have to stop accepting our favorite news sources as the arbiters of reality and truth.

    During the (now forgotten) Corona-crisis, Trump was accused of not being Hitler enough.

    I admit, I'm not really getting the whole, "Trump held a Bible" outrage. I'm trying to remember if there was a lot of outrage when Democrats held Bibles.

    If you want to read the words of a true FASCIST read Sen. Tom Cotton's NYT op -ed,"Send in the troops". It'll probably earn him high praise and a position in Dirty Donald's cabinet.

    Oh please it's been done at least half a dozen times in the history of the country. None have led to more than a bunch of looters and arsonist being shot.
