Nice. I am not sure how you play golf out of a cart, but maybe the democrats have figured out how to do it.

Getting in and out and walking and swinging the golf club is good exercise.

I just spent over an hour picking up some dead limbs out of yard. Getting on and off of the tractor and walking around picking up the limbs and then unloading them just about shot me for the day. But according to your logic, how could I possibly be wore out riding around on a tractor? Admittedly, I am 81 and have slowed down a bit over the years.

But golfing, even using a cart, is good exercise.

LOL...NOT the university. Some guys from the University did (doesn't mean the University approve or endorse), but I failed to see the study presented, just some hit piece conclusion. May be you are gullible because it fits your agenda, but it does not suit me. Show the study, and what kind of questions were asked, percentages, etc, then we'll have a discussion. Until then, this article is nothing but garbage.

The head republican Trump claims he is "healthy" while being fat. That is taking personal "responsibility" eh? LMAO.

Riding up to ones ball, hitting it and getting back into the cart is hardly exercise at all let alone 'good' exercise.

A distinction, from a public health perspective, which is only important if there is a difference in outcome. Then again the study was carried out by a political science professor with a professed dislike of the nanny state so I doubt very much whether the primary objective of the research was to try and find some insight to improve public health and try to address the growing societal costs of obesity.

Picking up a golf ball ain't exercise. That you compared yourself doing heavy yard work to Trump riding from one hole to the next, is beyond ridiculous. The heaviest thing he lifted is a golf club. Check your own logic before spewing utter nonsense at me.

"Picking up a golf ball". Again, you ignore the majority of the activity. That just make you lose credibility.

It's illustrative of the difference in the way liberals and conservatives think. Conservatives say I made these choices and I live with the results while democrats look for someone or something to blame for their plight.

"Actually, Republicans -- no matter how much they weigh -- believe eating and lifestyle habits cause obesity, the research found.

But among Democrats there is more of a dividing line, said Mark Joslyn, a KU professor of political science"

Clearly you've never played cart golf. Swinging a club is not exercise....which is the majority of the activity when it comes to cart golf.

I've played a fair amount of golf over the years, and a long time ago played to a halfway decent standard. Almost all of my golf has been played carrying a full set of clubs. I have, on a few occasions, been forced to use a buggy and to be quite frank, by comparison there's no exercise at all.

There's a huge difference between walking 5 or 6 miles carrying 25-30lbs of assorted ironmongery and strolling a few yards to your ball and hitting it maybe 40 times in the course of an afternoon. Back in the day the club championship was 72 holes played over two days in early September. Of course I was much younger then, but 25 miles over two days on hard ground in old-fashioned brogues with metal spikes left left me with some pretty tired dawgs.

Let me guess you only ever played pitch and putt? Or was it crazy golf?

Whatever you made it obvious you've never played a real game of golf in your life.

I swim 5 miles in one straight across lakes in the UK and I'm far more knackered after 18 holes lol.

I have. Not a lot after I got out of the Air Force because it was too expensive.

Again, minimizing the activity hurts your credibility. Swinging the golf club eighty times a round plus practice swings or what ever plus the walking is good exercise, especially for older people. It keeps you active and limber. All traits which Trump appears to have.

Why be insulting? It adds nothing to your credibility.

Typically if you're going around in 80, you'll maybe be playing 40-45 full shots. The rest will be pitches, chips and putts.

Walking the entire round, 5 or 6 miles, would be good exercise. The few hundred yards between the buggy and ball not so much.

Did you not just insult every golf player?

    Hint you did.

The OP which you keep trying to derail is not about public health it's about the difference between liberals and conservatives

You are talking about the difference between being under fifty and being over seventy. When I was 35 or 40 I could walk 5 or 6 miles. Not that I am a bit older, 5 or 6 miles is pretty much out of the question. A mile or so up down a slight hill gets to be difficult.
