FBI memo warns law enforcement across U.S. of possible armed protests at 50 state Capitols

Call 80 million folks despicable and then attack their president for 4 years this is what will happen when angry people believe the election was stolen from them. And no, I am not supporting what they did at the capital, just understanding why. If we want a united country it's up to Biden and the democrats to reach to the millions of voters who support Trump. If not then expect the next 4 years will be hell for this country. Drop the hate and move on of suffer the consequences.

Looks like they found/flipped another 6 million votes for Trump, but it still wasn't enough.

No one expects Republicans to work with Biden. When Obama won, they immediately declared they will oppose him across the board, and that it exactly what they did (including opposing corp tax cuts, and a border wall), while right wing media launched a massive negative news campaign against him. All this happened before he had done anything (good or bad). This is nothing new, and it's not about to end.

Trump and his mouth and anger made it extremely easy and justified to oppose. It was actually what he wanted. He NEEDs to be in the media, and he believes that even negative news is better than no news at all.

It would be like picking up a spitting cobra. Obama tried to reach out by declaring there would be no war crimes / torture investigations, or other investigations against Bush admin but they responded by spitting in his face.

Division isn't going anywhere. It was deep before, and Trump made it much worse.

 

Not most of them, or even a lot. Contrary to what seems recent popular belief most police are skilled in arresting people without killing them and, in fact, take pride in doing so

 

If it is an armed attack, as they fear, then fire will be answered with fire.

 

Republicans are the (barely) loyal opposition. They always have been.

This time that puts them in the position of clearly supporting a deadly pandemic and nuts attacking our Capitol

 

Again, police can usually handle even them. I only hope no one gets hurt.

 

They have a fence around the US capitol and a concrete barrier around the NY capitol. I thought walls didn't work.

 

There will be no attacks or any more insurrection. Trumpsters have too much respect for our Constitution to attempt to overthrow our government that was freely, fairly and securely elected. After all, their slogan is Make America Great Again. Attempting to overthrow the government and install a dictator would not serve this end. Very shortly, out of patriotism, they will collectively denounce the Big Lie of a stolen election and cheer the prosecution and incarceration of those who participated in the insurrection at the Capitol.

Then we can get back to the usual partisan bickering over the debt, taxes, gun control, abortion, healthcare, welfare and regulation of business.

 

They didn't work last week when Trump loyalists were climbing the Capitol walls like spiders (except for the old guy who fell off).

 

There was no fence around the capitol last week.

 

Think about that. Prior to the Trump Presidency, we didn't have a wall around our own Capitol Building.
We didn't have double walls around the White House.

Trump brought out the worst in everyone.

 

So you have not seen the pictures of people climbing the walls. Ok. No worries. Unlike a fence in the wilderness, the fences at the Capitol will slow down the attacks and help the police and National Guard defend the perimeter. Its sad that this is necessary, but this is where 4 years of Trump left us.

Obama screwed up when he campaigned on getting the economy up and running again and promising jobs. Instead he rammed healthcare down our throats when he had a majority in the House and Senate. The voters sent Obama a message by taking away the House from Democrats. Both Democrat and Republican voters wanted Obama to focus on jobs and economy. No president has ever been charged with war crimes, not even Johnson who committed many heinous war crimes during the Vietnam war which the US should never have been involved in. And Trump received a large portion of the votes at 73.6 million.

 

Who was it about then, and why did the crowd look like an ocean of Trump flags?

Like I said, they decided to oppose him across the board on day one, before he had done anything good or bad (except pre-emptively pardon everyone in Bush admin). I expect Biden be treated the same. I'd be very surprised if anything else happens.

 

The unemployment rate dropped from over 9% to under 5% while Obama was President.
We had 7 years straight of positive GDP while Obama was President.
While his numbers weren't great, it's hardly honest to say he was ignoring them.

Oh. And Trump got 33% of the votes of eligible voters ... not a "large" portion.

 

The riot was about anger and violence. Most of these riots have been conducted by anarchists. I assume the same can be said about the this one. The crowd wasn't riotous. They were about Trump.
