Well, this is interesting and largely predictable:

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...test-peaceful-night-federal-troops-withdrawal

"The withdrawal of federal agents from frontline policing of demonstrations in downtown Portland significantly reduced tensions in the city overnight.

Protesters in support of Black Lives Matter once again rallied near the federal courthouse that became a flashpoint, and the scene of nightly battles amid the swirl of teargas, after Donald Trump dispatched agents to end what he called anarchy in the city after weeks of demonstrations.

But in the absence of the federal officers, Thursday night’s protest passed off without major incident or intervention by the police."

The narrative isn't working outside his base. Nobody said there was no rioting in Portland, only that rioters were in the minority.

Reports indicate it's all calming down now the troops have left.

64% of Americans (about correspondingly not Trump's base) have a negative reaction to this campaign; many saying the arrival of Federal troops made the situation worse not better. So that's not moving the election needle as Trump had hoped.

Here's a tight summary as to specifically why it didn't...

    Well said, and exactly.

Some people (aka Trump's "Base") don't see (or hear) much that happens outside of the Faux/Breitbart Bubble.

Obviously, the other 2/3rds of America (not Trump's "base") are the people who will decide the Election.

    And, you are correct.

Among that 2/3rds, stuff like "Lookie Here, Portland!" doesn't even move the needle.

The ACLU is blocking the airing of live streams to aid the rioters.

Its still violent and this weekend, when the commies get their welfare checks it may well flare up.

We will see but Trump has handled this like a boss.

I love the liberal left trying to represent the rioting and destruction by the biggest losers of our society as peaceful protests by upstanding members of the community.

    ****ing comedy gold.

64% of Americans find it laughable for an entirely different reason.

Of 64% of people oppose federal agents protecting federal property (i want to see the source to that by the way), that isn't the same thing as those people supporting the loser riots.

Nice attempt at connecting those dots.

    We will see.

I'd argue law and order is highly popular.

Sources report this is the point where he threatens to hold his breath until he turns blue

"It's never worked on me either," Melania says.

So the feds were the problem.....I see.

What's your excuse for the first...what....50 or so days before they showed up? Better question: How will you pathetically try to blame trump, for those first 50 or so days, for the actions of violent leftists?

Same question to you: What's your excuse for the 50 or so days of violence before the feds showed up? And when they did show up, do you have a shred of evidence that they were the cause of the violence? Or are you going to try to argue that their physical presence is what forced violent leftists to attack them?
