I don't think you are clearing anything up. Maybe a good night's sleep would help? Honestly, I don't mean to mock if you are really sick or something, but you're not making any sense.

Why don't you just admit you can't hold up your end of the discussion? What kind of debate is it possible to have when you decide preemptively that not only are you correct, but you are so correct that to discuss it is a thoughtcrime?

    Double Standard Nation. Depressing.

Eh...hate crimes do more harm then regular ones and maybe should be punished more severely. You have to admit the debt to society for a hate crime is more then say one of passion/jealousy/money/randomness etc...

Not really, since there are examples of Black people being charged with hate crimes against White people, some of which have been posted in this very thread...

The defendant in a criminal case like battery shouldn't have to be the scapegoat for societies ills. There are certain crimes that gain a certain notoriety like the Zimmerman case that disrupt civil peace and do have larger scale consequences than just the facts of the case, however when you pile one "hate crimes" you are making the defendant a symbol of whatever the faddish victimology of the moment is.

That's not a path to justice.

It's only a hate crime and gets Holder's attention when it's Whitey. Otherwise unnoticed by this racist POS Dept of Injustice. Whitey now is discriminated against in America.

Didn't Holder once accuse America of being cowardly when it comes to race?

Holder is proving just how much a coward he is on race. Using his power to arrest a white man and charging him with a hate crime while allowing black youths to continue the knockout game without fear.

I agree because how it is applied unfairly, the knockout game is a clear example.

But if application were ideal, in theory I understand it. Terrorism is worse then random murder I think etc... Justice for the victim I guess doesn't see it differently, but criminal punishment isnt about making the victim whole, it is about punishment and deterrence. This guy was willing to take a battery charge to prove a point, I bet if he knew he would be looking at 10 years he wouldnt have done it.

The Obama administration filed a federal hate-crimes charge Thursday against a man whom authorities accused of using the “knockout game” to target a black man, videotaping it, and then bragging about the assault to strangers.

The charge marks the first time the administration has taken action on a “knockout” case after the game became an Internet and media phenomenon. It chose a case in which the person accused is white, even though most other cases reported in the news have involved black assailants.

I think if he calls it a hate crime, the guy will be arrested. Oh smack he was!!!!

Are you F'ing kidding me? When you find idiots who film themselves doing a crime, they should be prosecuted. Knocking out a 79 yo means the thug is a wimp.

Yet we've heard nothing from the Dept. of Injustice until now when it was a white against black. Holder is nothing but a racist!!! But keep defending this. Nothing surprises me what the left will defend when it comes to this administration.

Can you tell me which black man who said that he hit a person because he/she was Jewish or White - that the DOJ didn't prosecute?

    - - - Updated - - -

Can you give us the names of these black men that the police or the DOJ did not charge.

It would save time to point out that no blacks were charged with their racially motivated attacks on white people in any of the "knockout game" attacks over the last several months. I think only one eventually was, but his victim was Jewish, so there's a bit of a progressive Democrat arm wrestle there.

After all these years of black on white attacks the black attorney general finally found someone he could charge with a federal crime.

Are you ready to read the true story?

Four young males have been arrested after the senseless, brutal beating of a man on a late-night walk Sunday on St. Paul’s East Side, police said Friday.

According to the complaint, Widstrand was attacked when he tried to walk through a group of 30 to 50 juveniles and young adults fighting near Payne and Minnehaha avenues in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

On Friday, Ramsey County prosecutors charged Issac Maiden [black man], 19, of St. Paul with first-degree assault, first-degree aggravated robbery and crime committed for the benefit of a gang.

Meanwhile, three juvenile males were arrested Friday, authorities said.

A neighbor who saw Sunday’s fight from her window said the brawl erupted in the middle of Preble Street just south of Minnehaha Avenue.

She said dozens of people appeared to be attacking each other in groups. She said the crowd dispersed at the sound of police sirens.

The county attorney’s office said many of the fight’s participants were believed to be members of the East Side Boys gang or its younger affiliate, Ham Crazy.

According to the complaint, the chaos began with a fight outside a party at a residence on Prebele Street.

The second witness said the first person to hit Widstrand did it with a can in a sock. She tried to protect the man from people kicking and stomping him, while another witness said someone at the scene tried to use Mace to stop the attack, the complaint said.

So this was a black gang crime by four people. Witnesses (black?) tried to protect the white man. Four people were arrested. It was not a hate crime. It was a gang crime.

BTW, did anyone notice that the right wing propaganda machine ran with "A giant mob of thirty to fifty black thugs brutally beat a random white male in St. Paul, Minnesota." Way to lie about a crime to stir up the troops.

The crime was pretty bad. There was no need to embellish it.

Tell me when the white race was enslaved and Jim Crowed by blacks for 200 years? Whites have been enslaved by other whites but when did blacks enslave whites for 200 years.

Look at the Eastern European countries that were enslaved by the USSR for 40 years. Anyone notice how hard it was for whites to recover from that. Still those whites were not real slaves. They had skills and education but they struggle to recover from USSR tyranny.

The stupid thing to say is that all races suffered as much as blacks.

Time for the real story: Several religious groups have expressed concern that a hate crimes law could be used to criminalize conservative speech relating to subjects such as abortion or homosexuality. However, Holder has said that any federal hate-crimes law would be used only to prosecute violent acts based on bias, not to prosecute speech based on controversial racial or religious beliefs.
