Iraq wasn't even close to "stable". The Kurds were trying to form a separate government in the north, the Christian population was being forced out, there were daily raids coming out of Afghanistan and Turkey was on the brink of invading.

But all this, regardless of political affiliation, just goes to show that the unintended consequences of war are usually as bad as the war itself. War in Iran would be a nightmare of unintended consequences.

And that war was ended months before Stevens died - and Stevens was warned not to go to Benghazi. Every President has lost foreign operatives.

He was ordered by his boss the Sec of State to be there.....and no he was only the 8th Amb lost while in office....only the first since Jimmy Carter's admin to be killed in an attack.

But this all has little to do with the thread which is discussing possible war with Iran and what authority Congressional leaders have to talk with foreign dignitaries.

I think a special prosecutor would be prudent.

 

I will never understand the Trumpbots needs to elevate something that is a non-story to deep state conspiracy. It tends to detract from facts that might raise real issues. Such as, did the FBI not notify Trump's campaign that it had information about possible Russia attempts to infiltrate the campaign and provide helpful information to influence the election, and did FBI policy specify that was the proper procedure?

Reagan had contacts. Ted had contacts. Nothing wrong.

 

Think of it this way.

Elected dems will lie/cheat/steal for their personal benefit.

Its been proven countless times.
