I can't fault you for that. However, I think we both know Obama was a very different person than the current reality tv star in the white house. I desperately want America to survive trump and his idiocy.

Not to worry, no one expects a serious response from the hysterical snowflakes.

The problem is his army of apologists who think they alone can decipher what the moron actually meant. He doesn't have the intellectual capacity for hyperbole.

It is not abnormal OP, just how politics and people has evolved.

I was just listening to a radio show with Phil Schaap on WKCR. Schaap said 'Satchmo' told the prez to 'go to hell' over the race relations back then. Schaap said telling the prez to go to hell was unheard of at that time. He compared it to Twitter nowadays and what people say.

People have evolved, 20 years ago there was no question that a man with a penis was not a woman. In 2017 a good portion of the US think a man with a penis is woman.

You mean as opposed to the left with their secret code book that they use to turn anything anyone says in to some kind of racial slur?

I think Trump is going to be Trump; that is, he is going to have these feuds with the press and others on Twitter and so forth. Right now, that's what I think.

But I think we just need to focus on issues. Our country is truly facing some big ones. As examples ...

    1) The war against ISIS in Syria and Iraq which I suspect may change in the very near future

    2) What to do about health care.

    3) We have a looming fiscal crisis no one is talking about, but it is going to swallow up the federal budget in a few short years. It's the interest on the debt. Google it. The CBO info is there from multiple sources. It's not a partisan issue, it just is what it is. And it's going to force some major decisions in the very near future about taxation and spending.

All of this by far outweighs all of this post-election silliness (on all sides) that's been going on. By far.

Here, listen to what a real liberal thinks of the dems, Obama and you faux liberals.

Being an FDR liberal, I agree with her. She is sane, whereas these faux liberal Hillary people are FUBAR. Unfixable. Hopeless. And more and more people are fed up with this crowd which MSM wants us to think is most americans. We cannot handle any more damage from these neoliberal neocon faux liberals. Trump is gonna eat your lunches, and I support that. Enough of the nonsense.

you too could understand what the man is saying if you only treated him like any other politician out there. you throw out the weirdest statements as miscommunications and average out the remainder. your problem is that you do the exact opposite, concentrating your efforts on anything you can claim is outlandish, and then go looking for secret codes in his most mundane statements. maybe you think this makes you look smart or cool, but all it really does is prove to anyone outside of the progressive bubble that you are a narrow-minded partisan hack.

i realize, with a media intent on advertising only the negative, this is a difficult task, but anyone with the capacity to tie their own shoes should be able to accomplish it with a little concentration.

If finding a one word spelling error is the best you can do, his ideas must be pretty solid.

Trump represents the demolition of the Obama Revolution. Countless *******s the world over banked their hopes on the social insurrection overturning everything that white-founded civilization stood for. It makes perfect sense. These people have lost it and they're on the war path.

This guy can't even speak intelligibly to get a point across, express a view or defend himself. I don't know how Trump supporters imagine he's going to succeed. He absolutely doesn't know what he is doing. He can't craft or intelligently assess legislation. At least 0bama could freaking read!

    - - - Updated - - -

"We" who, exactly? We little people can talk and argue about these issues all we like, it won't make the government more functional. The whole thing is hopelessly partisan and bordering on dysfunctional..

Perhaps I've been wrong to try and defend conservatives against accusations of racism. I've seen more and more become outspoken white racists since Trump's election.

Then we have some on the left who think they alone can decipher what he meant. Usually wrong, but they run with it anyway.

I have noticed the same thing from down here...As for Dems trying to 'destroy' Trump, we should not bother...Trump is well on his way to destroying himself...I could not care less about Trump...He has no effect on me...I am concerned about friends and family back stateside...

I know. I feel that same frustration, Durandal. Feel free to read this. I just posted it minutes ago.

I believe we are in deep, deep trouble, and we are stressing about Kellyanne talking about Ivanka's fashion business, and Trump's feud with CNN. It's the stupidest thing ever. The earthquake is about to hit ...

    Read my post.

Not worried so much as disappointed, though I suppose with all the talk of deportation and banning certain immigrants, we are not without some reason for concern.

I'd agree with your list, however I think donald is only going to exacerbate these problems.

    1. We're going to see more military involvement. More expenditure of treasure and lives for little appreciable gain. This war against ISIS isn't going to end with them signing a surrender agreement on the deck of one of our battleships. Until muslims have a reformation of some sort, this is likely to be a perpetual state of conflict. Until Arab countries with large armies take up arms against terror groups and proclaim, this is not who we are, these problems will continue. All we're going to see from trump is escalation.

    2. Clearly, the republicans and donald have no clue what to do about healthcare. I'm sure they'd like to simply repeal everything and throw millions off of their insurance, but they realize that doing so is going to cost them elections. They've moaned and complained for years about Obamacare, all the while putting forth no ideas to fix the numerous flaws in the ACA. Now with majorities, the emptiness of their petulant whining is coming to bear. It's easy to point out something is broken, much harder to figure out a way to fix it. They've had 7 years to bring together some kind of plan, and have failed miserably. I expect that to continue.

    3. Well, you've seen parts of our first trumpian budget, which explodes military spending by 54 billion and is a model of fiscal irresponsibility. I'm sure we'll try more of the same old tax breaks for the rich, squeeze the poor whilst pissing away fortunes on bloated military contracts. Both of which are going right on the deficit credit card. Again, I think trump and the republicans like to whine when the deficit goes up under a democrat and disguise such spending as necessary when a republican is president.

None of this should be a surprise to anyone since donald never had any plans outside of winning and everything is going to be terrific.

I'll pass on what some idiot thinks with no credentials outside of ownership of a youtube channel. There's far too much of this amateurish nonsense that's designed to get idiots to click instead of think these days.

Trump is going to find out he's going to be able to do very little outside of whip up rubes at a rally into a frenzy. He may be able to rollback progress on a number of fronts, but new legislation is going to take cooperation which is not something he has. He can't executive order us into a golden palace of stupidity, no matter how badly the man-child in chief wants to.

No, we take words seriously. A great example is when he says its ok to grab a woman by the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*), that makes him ok with sexual assault. In trump apologist land, that's locker room talk and is explained away as harmless.

Look the guy is a complete idiot with a 4th grade vocabulary. I think even his most ardent apologists understand this. Even so, they attempt to assign additional meaning or wisdom to his idiotic ramblings when none exist. The way he talks is fine for one of his rallies filled with mouth breathers in trucker hats. Some people like the ability to formulate coherent sentences in their presidents.

    No kidding.

I would be surprised if he can pass any meaningful legislation.

There is ZERO chance that he will get anywhere near what the GOP is proposing on health care.
