    If you can't admit that trump fired Comey because of that Russian thing despite him saying so very publicly in the interview with lester holt, then I already know my evidence regarding trump trying to fire Mueller will not suffice for you.

    I understand that is your opinion, but your opinion is simplistic (even if I were to agree with you) because it ignores the potential impact his firing would have on the investigation through either replacing Mueller with a more friendly investigator or the sheer time and effort needed to apprise the new investigator of Mueller's work to date and getting a new investigative team in place.

    Anyone that thinks Mueller has not put the pieces in place to assure his years of investigation see bright lighting in any contingency does not understand what level this prosecutor plays at. We are talking about a successful mafia destroyer and lifelong professional here...not someone to underestimate.

    The very strange Flake made the same point during the Kavanaugh wars, when he was asked whether he would have paused the confirmation process for an FBI investigation if he had to face voters at the polls in November. “Not a chance,” said Flake.

    What he meant by that, I take it, is “There’s not a chance I could have done it and gotten reelected.” So, essentially the opposite of your claim, but good for you for trying!
