He also swore off leisure time… then proceeded to hit the golf course 186 times (and counting).

Obama: “uh umm, you give me this office and in turn my, fears, doubts, insecurities, foibles, need for sleep, family life, vacations, leisure is gone. I am giving my self to you.”

So eloquently said then Mr. President. Today we can all see the actions and sincerity and dedication to the job your doing. Were you lying then? We think so...

Prime minister Cameron was on vacation too, but cut it short to return when he heard about James Foley being beheaded. Obama gave his obligatory yadayadayada speech, took no questions, so that he wouldn't miss his tee time. New York Post's headline read, "Prez tees off as Foley 's parents grieve" "Bam's Golf War". There are 2 pictures: Foley's parents crying and Bam in a golf cart laughing. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT PICTURE?

While agreeing with the OP, I'd like to understand how he got elected twice and likely get a third term, if allowed to? Is it him or the current American Electorate? His policies and resulting debt, may not be recoverable, but regardless who is elected for a generation, will be affected by his two terms.

this is one promise we should probably thank him for failing to live up to. just think of the damage he could have done had he spent the extra time trying to tear down and remake the nation in his own twisted image.

Republicans continue to obsess over President Obama's vacation time even though he spent FAR less time doing so than did their Republican heroes Bush & Reagan:

WaPo - "Disconnected Obama" Meme An Example of the Lying Corporate Media

President Obama has taken far less vacation time than either Dubya or Reagan. This fact should put an end to the idea that President Obama is playing hooky and ignoring the demands of office. Yet, here is the Washington Post pushing this false meme with no mention of the fact that both Dubya and Reagan took far more vacation time than President Obama. Indeed, if you were to use vacation time as the measuring stick of greatness, than Carter who took only 79 vacation days would be seen as superior to Reagan who took a whopping 335 days of vacation. Nonetheless, WaPo happily pushes this propaganda without any context of facts that would allow its readers to make an informed judgment.

For the record, here are the totals:

President Barack Obama as of Friday has spent all or part of 138 days on vacation, less time away from the White House than his predecessors. Here’s a look at how they compare. The totals exclude trips to the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland mountains.

GEORGE W. BUSH: During eight years in the White House, spent all or part of 490 days at his ranch in Crawford, Texas.
BILL CLINTON: During two terms in office, used all or part of 174 days for vacation. Of those, 100 days were summers either in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, or Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
RONALD REAGAN: During two terms, spent all or part of 349 days at his ranch in Santa Barbara, California.

The difference is Reagan and Dubya took care of business before going on vacation, even took care of business while at their ranches. Obama goes on vacation to avoid having to take care of business. But then Obama's golfing games are transparent.

Obama got elected and re-elected because Republicans ran idiots, extremists, and hypocrites against him.

If Republicans could shed the Religious Right and run a fiscal conservative, social liberal who is willing to over time draw down on programs instead of abolish them outright, they would win.

I'd have a hard time calling McCain or Romney an idiot, extremist or hypocrite and I strongly disagree they should "shed the Religious Right". What your saying is all the damage done by this administration is far better than either Republican WOULD have done been, no doubt in your opinion.

Where did I say that? I said that in an election between a guy who claims that 47% of Americans are basically worthless and a guy who doesn't, the guy who didn't insult half the country is going to win.

Heck, even when he's at the White House Obama avoids making decisions. I'm told it's called leading from behind. From where I view the situation, Obama is not only lazy but incompetent to boot.

The bigger mystery is why there are those who still defend him.

He was new and fresh in 2008 and people responded positively. Or as low IQ Biden would say, he was clean and articulate.

In 2012 he was rancid meat but there was really no alternative. Romney stunk up the place, too.

But why on earth and how on earth can people still defend and praise the foolish little freak? That's what I don't understand.

Other than Questerr and Mr_Truth, the rest of the Leftist crowd are not even crickets in the background. They're running from the truth and facts surrounding Obama's words compared to his actions. Cowards and hypocrites?

In time, all Obama's history will be available and the person elected in 2008 will be known. Some to many rumored accusations no doubt will come out, along with his or his handlers actual motives. Unfortunately this won't help out today or even in the near future, as the bureaucracy and national courts have been flooded with like minded people. The Daily's didn't run Chicago for 40-50 years, without a good deal of corruption or controlled politics.

How they (liberal/progressive) manage to maintain their base is really quite simple. Where 40 years ago people formed groups for individual reason. Today those groups are pretty much going along with AGW (global warming) argument, even if the purpose doesn't fit the original purpose. Then the younger groups going to public schools, which practically teaches socialism and we can't forget the numbers that rely on Government for so many things, in fear of losing whatever....

As for Romney, I am no fan of him or for that matter McCain, but in either case IMO, that 2008 recession, now being called worse than the Great Depression, would have been off the books long ago.

You're probably right. And...we'd be doing a beatdown on ISIS, too.
