Democrats don't want to agree to a reduced temporary budget, even if it does not include funding for the wall.

I'm not saying the Republican side is being fully reasonable in working out the overall budget deal, but you can't blame only just Republicans for the shutdown.

The federal workers could be paid in a heartbeat if the Democrats agreed (agreed to that and nothing more).
