I am of the view that you best combat this sort of thing by engaging with them. It does no good to push them underground where falsehoods and vindictiveness fester - get them on the biggest stage you can and humiliate them with facts in front of the world.

After all, their arguments and beliefs have no merit and are comically easy to discredit.

The most successful deradicalization effort was by a black man who made friends with the KKK. Not by validating their views by yelling at them, but by demonstrating unequivocally that their beliefs are false though understanding and becoming living proof himself. When the truth is right in front of your eyes it's a lot harder to deny.

Most ignorance is facilitated by a lack of contact with the out-group.

I talked right to the people. I politely asked them to clarify what I had just overheard. I realize that's anecdotal but I didn't hear ANY who disagreed with the pamphlets. Most were quite beyond them, particularly in regard to Jews

Yes, they are probably protected by free speech amendment, as are KKK rallies and other nonsense, but such rapid increase in hate is a troubling sign of where things might escalate. Anti-semitism never made any sense to me, since Jews have done literally nothing to other groups of people. They are actually among the most productive group of people in US.
