That's right a mere HALF of black males graduate from high school.

It's funny because even hispanic males are graduating at higher rates. And most of them come from non-english speaking, poor house holds!

Yes, food stamp usage is up. You know, kinda what you would expect during a long depression. Benefits are down, though (per person and per household have dropped the last two years), showing that the system is actually being overextended by the long depression, and needs more help, or that more people need it, but not to the same degree (admittedly, I'm not 100% sure how food stamps work; never needed them). Once the economy recovers, this should normalize - these temporary spikes during economic depressions are entirely normal.

Solar companies, energy companies, government unions, government workers, and huge corporations like healthcare insurers are doing just fine.

This isn't a depression, its corporate fascism.

 

Why that's crazy....haven't you heard, we're not even in a recession, it ended in 2009/2010. We've been in the mist of the Obama recovery for 2-3 years now and can enjoy the ride for another 4! Gives a real tingle just thinking about it, doesn't it?

 

The inevitable result of our liberal welfare society. Handouts increase poverty, more govt decreases living standards. Same story for 5000 years.

 

Moving jobs to China definitely hurts American workers.

Yes. I said depression. They're two different words. Recession refers to GDP falling; Depression refers to a number of factors including GDP being below where it should be and mass unemployment.

Have you considered that many of the people that are getting food stamps ALREADY work, and just do not make enough money to survive on without those foodstamps?

If you have considered this, then please answer: How hard should someone HAVE to work in order survive? How many hours? And what if the person, for whatever reason, cannot work that many hours?

 

American workers are undereducated and overpaid. Consequently, they have zero competitive advantages in a globalized world.

The Chinese have competitive advantages. Stop hating Chinese.
