The attack in France is now just France's gun violence problem.

To be fair Americans should not be criticizing other country's beer. :)

    Australia has some nice wines.

The FBI tracks crime.. Your claims the "NRA" is trying to block it is beyond crazy.

Hoosier explains the method that website is using and then you think you prove a point by linking to it?

The Australian official should clarify that travelers should avoid areas of the USA that have strict anti-gun laws as those are the deadly areas.

so your theory is, get rid of the guns, and the mental health problems disappear, or at least they are less likely to harm you, so who cares about solving the correct problem?

out of sight out of mind?

if we get rid of the mechanism, we won't have to worry about the health and societal issues?

very uhhhh liberal of you I guess? way to care for the people, all to accomplish your ideology? trample on the folks to get what you want?

Very misleading. Violent crime in AUS was on a downward trend before the 1996 gun ban. When AUS implemented the gun ban in 1996, violent crime increased 33% (maybe 44%, I'll check later) by 2002, murder increased 16% by 2002. Since the peak in 2002, it has been decreasing, but it just recently dropped to the pre-ban level. I believe armed robbery dropped back to the pre-ban level in 2013 - yes, armed robbery.

And has been posted repeatedly, AUS has had about the same number of mass killings in the 20 years before the 1996 gun ban as in the 19 since the ban took effect, including 2 shootings.

And violent crime in the US has been decreasing steadily since 1991, and is much lower than violent crime in AUS. Only homicide is lower in AUS than in the USA, 2.0 for AUS, 4.6 for the USA. But the USA rate of violent crime is 100's lower then AUS's rate.

Yes, keep trotting out the cliches; how about, 'we saved your ass in two world wars'? That's always good for a laugh. Oh, and with reference to your previous post we have our own military budget and buy our own stuff.

Of course, because without the media gun violence would just vanish.

As always it pays to remember that violent crime, and what constitutes it, is measured differently in different countries.

history teaches us that europe shouldnt be allowed politics. Europe is best when USSR/russia runs the warsaw pact and the US dominates NATO otherwise europe loves its wars.

"Low" compared to where? Every other civilized Western nation has rates of gun-related violence orders of magnitude lower than the US.

Even if you ignore the specific numbers, the trend is clear. AUS bans guns and previously declining crime rates shoot upwards and remain high. The USA relaxes gun laws, more people own guns then ever, and crime declines steadily and significantly.

There is no way around it, the AUS gun ban is a failure.

no you didn't, and thats the whole problem... because thats the cause... the effect are guns... taking away the effect, doesn't solve the cause... it only changes the effect...

No it isn't. How many mass killings does Australia have every year do you think? Ballpark? And how many does America have every month? There's no way around that!

From Mother Jones, which is a gun banner and politically left organization, but they are honest:

    http://townhall.com/tipsheet/christ...-shootings-statistic-is-really-wrong-n2089407
"It turns out it wasn't, and even figures on the left agree. There's been nowhere near 355 mass shootings in 2015, and according to Mother Jones editor Mark Folman, there have been exactly four."

Folman runs the Mother Jones online database of USA mass killings. http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/07/mass-shootings-map

4 mass killings is typical, in the USA there are on average 2-3 mass shootings a year. Some years zero, some years more.

Australia, with 1/15th the population of the USA, has about 1 mass killing every 2 years. The per capita rate of mass killings is higher for AUS.
