You still haven't posted what your source is, I'm skeptical that power lines kill that many birds but more to the point, we can't really get rid of power lines so there's no reason to list them.

No- the thread is about attacking alternate energy- quoting an article from a website (The Right Wings News) that is against alternative energy.

Here the first line from the link:

Of course, Warmists are more concerned with mythical anthropogenic “climate change” than wildlife

This is the last line from the link:

This is what Leftists call “clean energy”. Where are all the environmental groups, overtaken by extreme Leftists? Mostly absent.

The OP could of course have quoted from a real news source- but that would have provide a more complete story- and wouldn't have had the anti-alternative energy spin.

Of course this is also from the same 'news source' that has headlines like this:

Good News: Wind Turbines Supposedly Making People Sick
    The Great Windmill Swindle

    Etc.

Matter of fact this "Right Wing News" site appears to ONLY be concerned about Birds health- when they are killed by wind turbines or solar projects.

Or when opposing environmental efforts to protect endangered birds

    http://www.rightwingnews.com/govern...-bird-to-import-prairie-chickens-from-kansas/

This is faux outrage about the death of birds by people who don't care when birds are killed by power lines- as long as that electricity doesn't come from wind or solar.

So even though power lines kill over 300 times more birds than wind turbines- you just shrug your shoulders?

Well that is sort of the attitude of those who are 'concerned' merely when it comes to wind turbines and solar power too. Of course there are things that can be done to reduce electrocutions- see below
Fortunately solutions do exist, and power companies have become increasingly willing to implement these, as a single avian electrocution incident can disrupt electricity service for thousands of customers at a time. Moreover, in a landmark case in 1999, the Moon Lake Electric Association of Colorado was ordered to pay $100,000 in fines and restitution, and mandated to retrofit their lines with bird-safety devices after being found guilty of violating the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. This case raised awareness of the electrocution issue and sent a strong message to utilities: the MBTA is violated if bird deaths were foreseeable, even if unintentional. In practice, however, prosecution of every electrocution or collision is impractical, and retrofitting every pole and line in the nation to be bird-safe is deemed too expensive by the utility industry.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has produced a 30 minute video entitled ‘Raptors at Risk’, explaining the electrocution problem and federal laws that protect birds while providing practical information on retrofitting existing power lines and installing new equipment to prevent bird deaths. These measures include visual markers such as colored spheres, spinning disks, and streamers that reduce the likelihood of collisions, and spacers, insulating sheaths, and wider separation between lines to decreases electrocution rates

There is no way FiT is going to be able to supply any significant amount of power. One can lower one's electrical utility bill using such a system but that is only because of the high cost of energy caused by draconian environmental regulations. But keep smokin' that pipe.

And you are, as usual, full of nasty insults.

That is so much BS and only based on made up environmental issues and frankly, ignorance. You do realize that coal plants spew HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of tons of RADIOACTIVE particulates into the atmosphere? Oh yeah, you don't. BTW, to build all those windmills and solar panels will require the use of more efficient energy like COAL.

The price of nuclear power beats solar in both capacity and cost. The price of nuclear power beats wind in capacity.

Yet another insult....the sanctuary of losers...

The reason he has re-posted his comments, and those numbers, 10 times in this thread is to dilute the discussion.
Apparently comparing choices, with non-choices... helps his side of the argument.

Maybe if someone starts a thread on window-pane bird mortality.... he will stop copying-and-pasting himself.
