So, what is the level of radiation people will be exposed to in order to ease people's paranoia? There is no need for these scanners. We are not in danger of a terrorist attack.

Any exposure to radiation can cause cancer. I wonder how many people will take that into consideration before flying, and how many will whinge and whine later when something bad happens to them after being exposed...

    Their choice; their responsibility.

    Flying exposes you to radiation.

I suppose there is a really big lesson in this for individuals with the intellectual ability to think beyond the box, and that is: should we 20 million citizens of Australia be allowing a few hundred politicians to force us into wars with people we really know nothing about and people who have done us no previous harm?

John Howard and the Liberal Party will be remembered by history as the first person and the first political party to expose and introduce Australians to terrorism due to Australia’s involvement in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Through John Howard’s eagerness to be a puppet of the USA‘s warmongering, he now finds that the best way the Australian people can protect themselves form suspect terrorist attacks, is for them to now dose themselves with known cancer causing radiation from X-rays before they are allowed to fly on planes.

I just wonder how many politicians will have to pass through these X-ray machines, or will they just be automatically allowed through turn-stiles due to their status?

Something tells me the latter will apply to ALL politicians and their families, but the average Tom, Dick, Harry and Wendy will be forced to cope a dose cancer causing radiation from an X-ray machine before they are allowed to fly.

I hope one really soon people start to wake up and realise they can trust a snake more than they can trust a pole dancing politician, and that anything a politician does and says is 1% in favour of the people and 99% in favour of themselves or their political party to win power.

Anyone who looks at the Liberal & Labor parties with an unbiased view, would certainly see two political parties in turmoil, and who have been taking the people of Australia around and around in a circle for decades without really addressing any major fundamental problems this country has. Its time to finally abandon these two distorted broken-down political parties who have been praying on our fears and weaknesses people and try something new.

We can thank that idiot Howard for making us a target for terrorism, thanks to him blindly following that murderer Bush into an illegal war.

Edit: Oh, whoops. I thought you disagreed, seems we are on the same page.

Most Americans are disappointed when they visit Australia except for some of the scenery, because it turns out the “stereotypical” American views of Australians “Crocodile Dundee” or banjo players from “Deliverance” isn’t real, and Kangaroos jumping down the streets doesn’t happen.

Australia is just a little USA, and the majority of Americans just realise they have wasted their money coming here instead of going to Europe…

I have some friends in the US who say and comment how much Australia and Australians look like the USA was in the 1970's

I think a lot of Americans are disappointed when they visit all over the world because America has it all.

I suppose it all depends on the individuals interpretation on what "having it all" means.

Actually, the government has said we aren't receiving backscatter scanners, which are the ones that emit radiation....And even then they appear to be pretty (*)(*)(*)(*) safe.

Got Kangaroo's around here, the other day I was sitting in my car on a vacant block of land and about 30 bounded past me.... I swore one of them was going to jump on my car - thank gawd it didnt, big buggers. I'm only 30mins from state capital.

There's plenty of unique stuff to see in Australia, if your a smart traveller and actually decide what to look at when you visit a place - instead of just arriving and taking bus tours around town to visit musuems and zoos.

I think the biggest difference might be we could have a vastly different concept of distance - ppl in Europe dont have to travel very far to see tons of different stuff, but here we have to fly a few hours or drive a day out and a day back to do stuff.
