Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii), a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, criticized Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) after she said that she would delay delivering House-passed impeachment articles against President Trump in an effort to ensure a fair trial in the Senate.

“I was surprised to hear that,” Gabbard told Hill.TV on Thursday, breaking with fellow Democrats who have rallied behind Pelosi over the move. “You can’t kind of just shift and change and make up the rules as you go along," she said. "If you’re going to pursue this process, you’ve got to let it play out the whole way through.”

Tulsi Gabbard continues to show her independent streak by calling out Nancy Pelosi for her impeachment games.

During the house impeachment vote-she voted present, citing how divisive impeachment is.

No doubt, her fellow democrats will attack her for speaking obvious truth.

Gayle and George and Lester didn't say anything about that, at least not while I was listening.

Yes, despite zero evidence for this.

    Hillary Clinton told them so.

I respect the 'no' votes as Dems who thought this was wrong or that the high bar was not met. I could still cast a vote for them if I agreed with them on other issues. I do not respect a gutless coward who says 'present'. Nothing she says after she casts a 'present' vote is worthy of consideration. She is a coward trying to have it both ways. By far the worst decision she has made in Congress.

Serious question, if the House holds the articles until after the 2020 elections and Democrats take the Senate but trump* retains the presidency — can they vote to remove him?

[Yes, I know that is highly improbable — Republicans have a higher chance to retain the Senate than trump* does does the presidency, but it is an interesting scenario] Maybe call it the Garland scenario...

I respect her more than lie-to-your-face Pelosi.

    Do you respect this?....

I don't believe so-it would be a different senate at that point.

Nancy can do whatever she wants.

Poor Little Irrelevant Tulsi, scraping the bottom of the barrel for anybody that will give her airtime.

Why does that matter? Does the constitution limit that?

I don't know that Pelosi is calling the shots anymore but I wont stop her while she's making a massive blunder.

    What if they did?
They need like 18 seats I believe, improbable but not impossible — we have seen larger swings that that in the past.

Because the case and its facts are being made to a different group at a different time.

    You are WRONG.

As long as the Dems. retain the House, they could bring them to a Newly-Elected Senate.

Of course, if the Dems lost the House, that would be a game-changer.

The case hasn’t been made though, so it cannot be a different group.
Does impeachment have a time limit?

About the only thing they could do if they regained the House is send the articles. Impeachment has already been successful and there is no legal way to reverse it.

Legal is underlined because trump* has padded the court with unqualified partisan ideologues so we never know what is “legal” any longer.

    NO.

As long as the Dems. Control the House, Pelosi could withhold the Articles indefinitely.

From what we know of Tulsi Gabbard, are we really surprised? That woman has shown her independence of thought consistently for years, not just lately as a presidential candidate looking for attention.

The "case" was made to the house.

To later, and with info that may be different-pass it on to the senate is bogus.

You are shopping for a senate that will impeach-thats not going to work.

Not surprising. Sadly this independence can not be tolerated in the democrat party.
