The republican's were right. The best way to improve this country was to prevent Obama and the dems from doing anything in their agenda. The unemployment rate has dropped 2.5% during the Boehner/McConnell self-imposed stalemates.

    Conservatism wins again.

Which begs the new question. How come ALL year long Every revision was downward as far as
number of employed.Meaning original estimates were overblown.
Now out the blue both July and August revisons are Upward meaning original
estimates didn't count as many as they should.
Sorry ... But this doesn't even pass the Smell/Laugh test.
This is flat out Banana Republic Revisionism.

If we didn't have a trillion dollar deficit, I'd be fine with that plan.

Whoooooooooooo!!!!!! That unemployment has gone down 4 tenths of one percent! Whooooooooooooo!!!!!

Amazingly, it only took 4 whole years....

Still far, far too high and that is only a single part of the multi-part obama failure.

    Yawn.

Tom Coburn has identified approx $300b per year in duplication and waste in this country, and no one will even listen. They are too interested in keeping their seats.

Your statement is false again. The accurate number is 1.3 percentage points since the Republicans took over the House.

Per gallup, unemployment rate was 10.1% on Oct 1, about the time McConnell/Boehner began stating #1 objective is to just say no.

Perhaps the the unemployment rate is actually 7.6? and not at 4% as you'd like it?

Fair point. I thought you were referring to BLS. Though the rate was 9.5% on Jan 4, when the Republicans actually took control of the House.

Gallup unemployment dropped another notch today, down to a new low record (for them) of 7.5%. I guess I should have waited before starting the thread!

Gallup's unemployment rate topped out at 11.3% in early 2010. That is a 3.8 percentage point drop, far more than the 4/10 you asserted.

Which is very good news to those of us who want to see the economy recovering.

But I appreciate it's a big yawner to those invested in failure for political purposes.

When Barack Obama signed an executive order that removed the work requirement from Welfare recipients.... he just artificially changed the number so that willing idiots will run around spreading propaganda on the "improvement". They no longer had to apply for work through the Employment offices, thus they were REMOVED from the unemployment numbers. It was a scam. Where is the media to report it? Nowhere as usual.

You cannot only gain 115,000 and decrease the unemployment number. 150,000 is required just to break even.

    SHENANIGANS!!!!

LMAO...Based on your own chart, the castration of the trucking industry happened on Bush's watch, and then it bottomed out on 2010 and is now on the upswing, thanks to Obama's policies.
Too bad you only see a negro in the White House.

Ah, our friend HB Surfer does an excellent job showing how effective RW propaganda is on the masses with this "pants on fire" regurgitation of an old lie,.

Romney: "Under Obama’s plan (for welfare), you wouldn’t have to work and wouldn’t have to train for a job. They just send you your welfare check." Rated: Pants on fire.

"But on July 12," the ad continues, "President Obama quietly announced a plan to gut welfare reform by dropping work requirements. Under Obama’s plan, you wouldn’t have to work and wouldn’t have to train for a job. They just send you your welfare check, and ‘welfare to work’ goes back to being plain old welfare."

    ...

Our ruling: That's a drastic distortion of the planned changes to Temporary Assistance to Needy Families. By granting waivers to states, the Obama administration is seeking to make welfare-to-work efforts more successful, not end them.

I'm sure it won't be the last.

Right, because anything good that happens is 100% due to Obama's brilliant policies, and anything bad is not due to Obama's policies at all. Did you thank Dear Leader for the sun rising, today?

That's what you see, and it's a big reason why you white guilt liberal progressives voted for him.

If the same percentage of the population was working today that was working the day Obama took office, we'd have close to an 11% unemployment rate in U3.

Only in Obamaland would Iriemon argue that less people working is a good thing for the economy.

ROFL! Nice Straw Man... that was not my claim.

My claim was that they no longer have to register with the EDD offices and thus are not counted as "unemployed" since the Executive Order.... which is true and correct.

Thanks for your attempt and fail... it was fun to watch.
