I hope so, but I have a feeling they will be around for some time to come. Maybe one or the other may die soon, but we won't be rid of both Boltons for some time.
In the end, Tormund Giantsbane will sit on the Iron Throne.
This show is getting ridiculous. "Hey, what's the worst thing we can think of to (*)(*)(*)(*) off the audience this week? Oh I know, let's have Ramsey rape Sansa! Then let's have Stannis burn his daughter alive at the stake!"
I think we saw this coming. They have been playing up how much Stannis loves his daughter. It's probably his most human quality. But the fate of the world might be at stake so heh, collateral damage, As the Kurgan said, it's better to burn up then fade away. Oh that's another movie... Anyway, the lesson still stands. Stannis is the only claimant for the throne who seems aware and concerned with what's going on up north.
Yeah. We certainly should have seen it coning. In fact when the red priestess first suggested it I went "oh (*)(*)(*)(*) he's going to end up doing it". Sure enough. And if saving the world means burning your own little girl alive at the stake then (*)(*)(*)(*) the world. I still can't believe one of the dozens of soldiers that all stood there and watched, horrified, didn't grow a pair of balls and say "(*)(*)(*)(*) this, defend the princess!!"
No way Davos supports Stannis after that. Hopefully he puts an end to those sick bastards when and if he returns.
That's why I stopped reading the books, even though they are very well written they started to lose their entertainment value after they become predictably "grimdark" in their orientation. I have to seriously fault Martin for doing that I think Davos will when he returns and realizes why he was sent away, and Stannis' men will help him
when Stannis' Hand returns from Castle Black, and learns what Stannis did to his daughter, he will rebel.
This is getting dangerously close to "shock" cinema, and I usually avoid such cheap stunts since they are usually nothing more than labored attempts for attention. - - - Updated - - - That's what I was anticipating as well, even before I knew for sure if he was going to kill his daughter. Davos looks a lot more like Robert Barathian than Stannis. I wish they had cast those two differently, although I like Davos as a character.
SPOILER ALERT!!!! how the hell could they kill Jon Snow????????????? oh man... but i guess its not a surprise, since hey had the Knight's Watch fight for a man who burns to death his own daughter, and then all die in battle. i guess....these things happen. soo great to see cercei shamed like that. she sooo deserves it. and Theon, he found his balls!!!! (metephorically speaking).
How long have you been watching the show? Anyway they were foreshadowing the little knights watch kid turning on Jon for the last few episodes, so I wasn't that surprising.
I mean we all saw it coming but I'm putting my bet on him not being dead, or if he is mellisandra will resurrect him or something like beric dondarrion. She was wrong all along. Stannis was never meant to be the king, he was just the way to lead her to the true king.
Either that or he somehow lives on through his direwolf. In the book he says Ghost's name as he's dying.
i was told that all the salaries for Season 6 were released, and Kit Harrington is listed. so yeah, looks like the witch lady saves him. thank God!!!
