Let's not forget that it also Obama's fault that sales of Hoop and stick: And Cup and Ball: are also way down!
Who needs GameStop when you have Steam? The whole concept of having storefronts for games is becoming as obsolete as Blockbuster Video. You can't really blame Obama for this one.
Or, people are realizing that there are better, cheaper alternatives to purchasing gaming content from a GameStop store. Gamefly is a rent/buy service that lets you rent games with no late fees, holds every popular title the day it releases, and hold multiple game titles for under $20 a month. At GameStop, a new title costs $60 dollars... which is steep if you discover you don't like the game. The company also gives you peanuts for in-store returns toward credit (depending on the title). It's simply a better bang for your buck... but I'll bet you'll also say the collapse of the Postal Service has nothing to do with e-mail. Get with the times.
Not at all. You may not be aware but Gamestop has a service just like Steam. It's an online Client in which you can buy digital content, and stores your games in a cloud based library. It used to be known as Impulse. Thats what I was referring to. The only time I still hit the brick and Mortar stores is if I want to buy a collectors edition box of somehting, or for the kids Console games and accessories.
Actually, a lot of businesses were waiting to see what happened with the election before they decided on hiring/firing strategies. A lot of riding on the possibility of Obamacare being [even partly] killed.
This is exactly the case and what my company did as well. Instead of hiring, we are selling off the company. All jobs will be lost in the end. It's the smart business decision, but I expect zero Liberals to understand that.
Power accrues to those who stoke the grievances of the different tribes in this country. Can you identify the unifying principle which unites americans? If so, please do so.
Let's pray that is not he case. I fear you have a point. Barack Obama and the Democrats in power have run on division. A great example is that calling out Susan Rice for clearly misleading the U.S. Public and lying has brought cries of "racism" from elected Democrats. It's a real national tragedy. The meltdown desired by the Marxists is upon us. Cling to your guns and religion.
As an avid gamer I have to say Gamestop did it to themselves mostly. Ridiculous trade in value, intentionally keeping limited stock in order to promote "pre-ordering" so they can attach their own crap to it. And lets not forget digital distribution, and game devs trying to curb used games sales. I for one have no bought anything at gamestop since fight night champion came out a few years back. I use gamefly mostly and occasionally best buy for gaming since they actually have things in stock.
they dont charge anymore than anyone else on game prices. but im guessing you thought you were gonna get $30 per game you traded in didnt you lol???
The enemy is now in permanent control of the US. (*)(*)(*)(*) the US. A deterioration of race relations weakens the US. Let it happen. Every day is a new day to stoke the fires of animosity in little ways. Little irritations that accumulate to cause alienation and estrangement.
please tell me what you think is fair to both you and the company for trade ins??? every gamestop i ever went in too i never had a problem getting what i want when i wanted it. if you dont want to pre order then dont pre order, its that simple. even without preordering i got what i wanted on opening day. hell i havent bought a new game since MW3 came out, was gonna pre order Black Ops 2 but i just waited for the next day and it was in stock like normal. pre ordering is basically for getting the limited edition (*)(*)(*)(*), the regular games will be there no matter what. dont blame gamestop for the used games debacle, blame the greedy ass developers. gamestop is doing people a favor on used products, not having to pay full price for a brand new game is pretty nice. the developers are the ones pissed off because they want you to buy their games for $60 even after they are 3 years old. go to walmart, nest buy, target, etc. etc. and they will all have the games if gamestop runs out. jesus christ, every now and then KFC runs out of nuggets and (*)(*)(*)(*) but (*)(*)(*)(*) happens.
more and more games are available directly through the consoles.....and they sell almost no computer games anymore.... they are record stores....remember them?
Don your an idiot. Any gamer will tell you what is really going on. 1.) Gamestop is a notoriously bad company to work for and to buy from. 2.) You can buy and download games directly from your console if connected to the internet now. Instead of waiting in line at the store. 3.) The PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 are all reaching the end of their line and because of this less of the AAA titles that bring in big money are coming out in the next few months while people wait for the first console refresh in 6 years. 4.) More people are moving back to PC gaming because of sites like steam http://store.steampowered.com/ an online PC game seller with over 30 million users, that is owned by Valve (which is also a very accomplished game making company, responsible for titles such as Half life, Portal, and Left 4 dead) 5.) A few years ago when Gamestop really started to expand, they took the best buy approach to destroying the competition. For every local gameshop or EB games shop in a town, Gamestop built one right across the street, eventually leading to almost all their competitors to fall. Because of this there are a lot of places where there are multiple gamestops within a block of each other, and thats dead weight on the company. I could go on. This is in no way Obama's fault.
They declared bankruptcy 10 months ago, and in that time they armed all their executives with multi-million dollar gold parachutes. The union and the greedy execs are to blame for what happened to hostess.
How does this relates to the ACA? I live in the Raleigh-Durham area and there are about 8 Game stops in a 10-15 miles area. When you expand too rapidly, certain stores will suffer. Starbucks found this out when they expanded too quickly. When I worked for Verizon Wireless in a brand new store in Rocky Mount, NC we found out that not only did VZW open a new store there, but they also allowed an independent retailer to open and Circuit City, Best Buy, and Target to also sell our phones. This resulted in slow sales in the corporate store and higher sales in the other places. Poor planning and over-saturation of a market. Nothing to do with the ACA and the President at all.
Yeah yeah, it's all Obama's fault. If only we had had Republitards in charge these last four years, we'd have never had a recession
read this whole thread and not a single person pointed out to me which of Obama's policies have contributed to this downfall...
