And.....he says that the most hateful things said about him have come from those on the left. So, the initial reports about him being forced out because he was gay were lies. I truly wished the mainstream press would get their facts straight before just making up stories.

Gay former Romney adviser says he wasn’t forced out of campaign

Richard Grenell, an openly gay foreign policy expert who left Mitt Romney’s campaign after a brief stint, denied that he was not forced off the team because of criticism or pressure from social conservatives.

“The right I'm very comfortable with, taking those hits and barbs, because I've had a 20-year career where I've worked for politicians, I've worked on elections, on campaigns, and I know exactly the trajectory of the assaults from the far right,” Grenell said in an interview with The Desert Sun of Palm Springs.

“The far left doesn't want a gay person to be conservative and the far right doesn't want a conservative to be gay. Some of the most hateful, mean-spirited intolerant comments about me being the foreign policy and national security spokesman for Governor Romney ... were coming from the left,” he said.http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box...foreign-policy-aide-says-he-wasnt-forced-out-

In my perspective, and if your links are what they appear, he has earned that criticism.

Here is my description of the man:

He is well, a true Republican after all. He started on the right and he remains loyal to it. Loyal to the loss of his gay side. I think being gay is really not very important to him. He doesn't really think about it.

And rightly so, I mean how much part of your life is sex? There are many other things: eating, drinking, politics -- which is also his job.

In other elections I wouldn't care what he thought. It didn't make a difference in the past. But now gay rights is really there on the table with Republicans against it and Democrats for it.

Garrnell has made up his mind that gay rights isn't a strong issue with him he would rather support Republicans over gay. He has been scrubbing his twitter feeds of pro-gay messages. He really wants more work from the Republicans.

There are many men like Garrnell in history who were lured by the gold and opportunities of his oppressor. Like others Garrnell has also sold out his gay people to continued oppression so the Republicans will keep showering him with wealth and gifts. What is the word for such people? Maybe turncoat? Traitor? something else?

It's not like gay rights is a big deal with all the other policy decisions to consider, after all it isn't everything in life. It's just that Garrnell has chosen his side. It is Republican and with that choice he is now anti-gay. He oppresses his own people.

Of course he's going to defend his ex-employers. If he speaks out against them, he did be black listed and find it difficult to get a comparable job.
