Germans Believe Trump Poses Greater Threat to World Than N.Korean, Iranian Leaders - Poll

If you want hold bases in allied nations who dont want those bases and ask you to leave, then that means you are a facist tyranny.

Its that easy.

If you stand for freedom and democracy and a free and democratic nation that calls you actually a friend, asks you to close a base on its soil, then you cant denie that. Otherwise you betray your own core values.

 

Are you that naive to think neither Russia nor China are engaging in tactics to them stronger and Germany weaker, or any other country for that matter.

If you think they are less of a threat, you are entitled to that.

Politics and diplomacy know no friends, just interests. Last 70 years Germany profited from alliance with USA. Doesnt mean it has to be that way forever.

The sanctions cost us 300 million € and delay the completion of the pipeline several months.

This is generally my thought on foreign policy, and the foresight that a country like ours needs to have as the world superpower. Maintaining #1 status isn't easy, and part of it is to assume that everyone is a 'competitor'(to use Trump's phrase), rather than to be lax, and at the same time try not offending other nations.

We should've gone about it a different way, than to sanction the Germans and Swiss in effect. Our antagonistic rival is Russia, we don't need to make the entire European Union an enemy as well.

It probably will not because cooler heads prevail. However, if Trumpism continues, it is true that there can be no alliance. Trump's motto of "we win, you lose" is imcompatible with alliances, which are typically built on a win-win situation for both parties involved. Words DO have consequences. "America first" does not give warm fuzzies to allies. That's why it is better to do any trade negotiations behind closed doors, rather than in public. "America first" just gives German politicians the reason to proclaim "Germany first" to their citizens. Then, fronts can harden and alliances can break.

 

If Trump is a greater threat, it is only because he is in command of the world's #1 economic and military power, coupled with this stupid and erratic behavior. Really, I don't know why anyone would pick the leaders of Russia, North Korea or Iran when their power and influence are microscopic by comparison, and any use of nuclear weapons or other significant mistake made by any of them would see their respective regime toppled within days.

 

Thats the main problem with Trumpists. I once asked @US Conservative what actually Germany can profit from Trumps deals ect. He could not name a single thing. In their worldview they want opress others. Their deals work only for them amd they want others to swallow it. Since they have nothing to offer, their demands get rejected which results in angry rants.

Yes, in a sense. Not that that has much to do with what I said, however. Trump has long been overusing sanctions. He doesn't know how to engage in diplomacy, so he wields tariffs and sanctions like a club to threaten and beat others into submission instead. That is the extent of his "negotiating" prowess as a national leader.

I somewhat disagree. I want German politicians to put Germany first, I want our politicians to put us first, Italian politicians to do the same and so forth. The issue is, while putting our countrymen first, can we appropriately balance the interests of the world. We can, with benevolence and kindness towards one another.

That to me is the great flaw with Nationalism in the 19th century, instead of benevolence and kindness, there were grudges, bitter rivalries and hatred from sea across sea.

 

How much benevolence can be when USA want "we win, you lose"? So far USA has nothing offered to us. Just demands.

 

The real deception here is pretending Germany is anything less than a far left controlled majority. They don't hate Trump because they fear him. They hate his nationalistic politics. Its the same reason they hate Boris Johnson and why they love Merkel.

Johnson and Trump are enemies of mass immigration, social justice and speech controlling fascists.

Merkel loves mass immigration, social justice and laws curtailing free speech.

Anyone who claims to be a German and hates Trump while loving Merkel is part of this new far left socialist movement that puts immigrants and social justice at the top while attacking any nationalistic or native pride people have in their countries.

 

A more accurate poll would be what % of Germans are indoctrinated by their media.
