Go ahead and put together the alternative plan. It's not impossible it will be better than Washington's plan, even if it would skimp on the funds without a few modifications.

Putting dubious methods aside, and pretending there was just the "pure" capitalist method of selling goods at a profit, what do you call doing that until a few people own half the country? I call that a rip-off. Suppose it was done until they owned all the country?

I favour rule of law myself, and maybe a corporation regulated by it like in Germany, some meritocracy, maybe some Syndicalism, a little bit of planned economy, and even some private initiative, but I think your model is interesting, the one where you don't actually have a model.

You want jobs for everyone? Government must do what it can to make our country THE PLACE in the world to set up a business. Whatever it takes. If good paying jobs for everyone is the goal, it will take scrapping of regulations, energy production dedicated for business, land grants to business, etc. We can't compete with low wages overseas, but we can OFFSET the difference with cheap energy, tax breaks, etc. If jobs are the goal, you'll have to make some concessions from your liberal positions.

 

Europe and the low countries don't need to "do whatever it takes" to maintain a standard of living, and soon neither will China. Do you see Germany competing with low-wage countries? They certainly don't do it by means of Wall-Street capitalists.

I'm sorry, this is just nonsense. We don't need to compete with anyone. We can run all of our technology ourselves, and manufacture everything we need ourselves. If the capitalists want to go somewhere else, fine. We don't need them, certainly not Wall-Street types. Even for useful kinds of capitalists, soon even computers will be simple things to manufacture if they don't care to stay. So go somewhere else, I'll take it from here. Good riddance.

 

I can make all the bloody jobs I want if tell the farmers and the people running the electrical and rail system that they're all getting butlers and waitresses and the theatre burns down and now you're all watching live performances, don't worry it's been done before wasn't bloody awful then. Won't need any bloody capitalists making jobs then now will I? I'll be using rasperby pi's for all my calculators and if they stop working I can bring back human calculators and we can reinvent the bloody computer with the punchcard and the vacuum cleaner.
